Is the Election Finally Over?

I know that liberals still can’t get their little heads around what happened on November 8th, but now that the 538 Electors have had their say, isn’t it high time they accepted the inconvenient truth that we won and they (tee-he) lost?

I know that liberals still can’t get their little heads around what happened on November 8th, but now that the 538 Electors have had their say, isn’t it high time they accepted the inconvenient truth that we won and they (tee-he) lost?

It’s not that I can’t empathize. After all, I have spent the past eight years waking up every single morning hoping that it’s all been a bad dream, only to realize that the nation had actually elected and then re-elected a gay black man named Barack Hussein Obama.

But if I were a Democrat who had demanded a recall in Wisconsin and seen Donald Trump pick up an additional 131 votes, and then waged a full-scale campaign to get 37 Republican Electors to change their votes, only to see Trump lose two and Mrs. Clinton lose five, I think I would just heave a large sigh, place a cold towel on my head and lie down for a while.

Clearly, there will need to be major vetting of those selected for the Electoral College prior to the 2020 election. Although 531 Electors did the job they had vowed to do, there were seven hold-outs who proudly displayed their mental incompetence by casting their votes for Colin Powell (3), and one each for John Kasich, Ron Paul, Bernie Sanders and something or someone called Faith Spotted Eagle. But in a closer election, such a dereliction of duty could have dire consequences.

The overriding question, though, is why so many people donated their money, time and reputations, to persuading the Electors to toss the decision to the House of Representatives. Did they not realize that the GOP controls the House or were they so addle-brained that they thought the House would over-ride the election results and take it upon themselves to place someone other than Donald J. Trump in the White House?

The post mortem over how Mrs. Clinton managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory had already concluded that James Comey, partisan pollsters, misogynists, Vladimir Putin and just possibly sun spots, all played essential roles, but Bill Clinton laid most of the blame at the feet of “angry white men.” Apparently, Clinton took the title of “the first black president” to heart. He is now convinced that we honkeys are to blame for his wife missing out on her second coronation.

Of course, Mr. Clinton has always had trouble with the language. It wasn’t that long ago that he had trouble deciphering the meaning of such simple words as “is” and “sex.” So, it’s little wonder that he says “angry white men” when what he means are “Americans.”

Lena Dunham, a 30-year-old no-talent, who has a podcast that is unfortunately rather popular with young women with single-digit IQs, recently announced that she regrets that she’s never had an abortion. She went on to say how proud she is of her mother and her best friend, two women who have actually displayed the requisite courage to bring an innocent human life to an end.

The question that popped into my head is why Lena’s mom chickened out the second time around.

Michelle Obama, a multi-millionaire, recently sat down with Oprah Winfrey, a billionaire, and commiserated over the sorry state of the nation now that Barack is about to mince out of the White House. “This,” Mrs. Obama said, “is what lack of hope feels like.” Oprah acknowledged she knew the feeling all too well.

Talk about a disconnect! Prior to the election, a poll indicated that 68% of Americans felt the country was headed in the wrong direction under Obama. Today, 60% of Americans feel encouraged about the future. Part of that might be due to the fact that the Stock Market surged by roughly a thousand points once Trump defeated Mrs. Clinton (aka Obama’s third term).

Can anyone even imagine Barbara or Laura Bush appearing on a TV show a month before their husbands vacated the Oval Office and suggesting the country would be going into the crapper under Bill Clinton or Barack Obama, although at least one of them would have been telling the truth?

Speaking of Obama, he told NPR’s Steve Inskeep: “If you stopped all immigration today, just by virtue of birth rates, this is going to be a browner country.”

So, that’s why he was keeping those borders open and rolling out the red carpet for Muslims. If I have this right, God created people in His own image, and for the past eight years, Obama has been trying to do the same.

It’s been comical to hear the Democrats suggest that if the voters had had the same opportunity to see what was in the email of the Trump team the way we got to find out what was being circulated between Hillary Clinton, Cheryl Mills, Huma Abedin and John Podesta, it would have been a whole different ball game.

Oh, really? Have they so quickly forgotten all the outrageous things that President-elect Trump said and tweeted, not only about his Republican rivals, but about Megyn Kelly, John McCain and American POWs?

Has it even slipped their minds that a certain video of Trump and a TV reporter sharing crudities about women went viral a short time before the election?

What did they think would show up in Kellyanne Conway’s email that was going to be worse than that? Plans to kidnap the Lindbergh baby?

As a Republican, I must say the good news just keeps coming. First, we had Nancy Pelosi re-elected to be the House minority leader. Next, the toxic Harry Reid will soon be taking his leave of the U.S. Senate and it still looks like the black Muslim communist, Keith Ellison, will be replacing Donna Brazile as head of the DNC.

But, best of all, Barack Hussein Obama has announced that he plans to teach his fellow Democrats how to be more effective in the future. What joy! I can’t wait until the president who oversaw — and, moreover, caused — his party to lose 11 Senate seats, 63 House seats, several governorships and 900 seats in the 50 state legislatures, in a scant six years, shares his magic with others.

It wouldn’t come as too big a surprise if, prior to the 2020 election, the Democrats decide that their brand has been so badly damaged that they decide to run as Whigs.

Finally, when it comes to things that science really shouldn’t be wasting time with, I think we’d all agree that robotic dogs would be at the top of the list.

I think I heard that the mechanical mutts are selling for $1.4 million. I mean, I know it’s sometimes a pain to take our pets out for their constitutional when the weather’s lousy. But for a lot less than $1.4 million, I’m sure you could hire a dog walker and perhaps have enough left over to bribe an Elector in 2020 to vote for Faith Spotted Eagle, just for the hell of it.
