An Atrocity, Not a Tragedy

Once again Islamist thugs have brought death and sorrow to our civilization. This time the target was 21,000 people attending an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, England. Many of the concert goers were girls, and many of the girls were primary school age.

One of the first victims identified was Saffie Rose Roussos, only eight years old. There will be others. As I write, the death toll is 22 with an additional 59 hospitalized, many of whom have suffered the grievous injuries experienced on the battlefield of war.

As word of the bombing spread, social media platforms used by ISIS and other jihadist groups erupted with celebration. An investigation is underway of one Twitter account that posted a threat on Manchester four hours before the attack. Today all across Britain schools are receiving threats that jihadists are coming to “behead your children.”

Who Did It?

The bomber was Salmon Abedi. His inspiration was Islamism. His victims, according to ISIS statements, were “crusaders” who deserved to die.

Abedi was another “known wolf” meaning that British authorities were aware of his extremism. That “awareness” did not prevent him from sending nuts and bolts propelled by the explosion into the flesh of children’s arms — the same arms that hugged their parents the very day they were murdered.

British authorities are tracking 3,500 known wolves — largely young Islamic men who are suspected of posing a threat. Every European nation faces similar challenges. Belgium, population only 12 million, the center of Europe’s flabby thinking about good and evil, is tracking 18,000 of them. Have you noticed that the only places that appear somewhat immune to this death cult are countries such as Hungary and Poland that have avoided the heavy immigration, legal and illegal, from the Muslim world?

Killing Children Is What They Do

Commentators are suggesting this is a new low for the jihadists. It isn’t. In Beslan, Russia, in 2004, Chechen Islamists seized a school, taking more than 1,000 people hostage, including 777 children. After a three-day siege, 330 people were killed including 186 children. Many of the children had been sexually assaulted.

Boko Haram in Nigeria took hundreds of Christian girls hostage in 2014. They were forced to convert to Islam or die. They were passed out to the Haram “warriors” to use as they desired. The then-first lady of the U.S. helped lead a social media campaign, #BringBackOurGirls. Boko Haram was not impressed or deterred.

In the last Gaza war Hamas dug scores of tunnels into Israel to allow hundreds of jihadists to surface in civilian neighborhoods. One such tunnel opened into an Israeli kindergarten. Hamas intended to massacre the children or take them hostage back to Gaza. Most of the American media ignored the story — they were too busy suggesting Israel was committing war crimes.

September 11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed was asked by U.S. interrogators how he could justify intentionally killing women and children. He cited his understanding of the Koran as his reason. He wanted to kill little “infidel” boys so they wouldn’t grow up to be soldiers. He wanted to kill our little girls before they could bring more “crusader” babies into the world.

The Disgusting Pattern

They kill us any way possible. They run us down in our streets. They gun down or blow up our children enjoying the innocence of young life. They stab and hack and behead. We weep. Flowers pile up at the scenes of the carnage. Songs are sung. The Islamism apologists leap into action. We are warned not to draw any broad conclusions.

Politicians tell us there is little that can be done. What they mean is there is little that they have the courage to do. Europe has been following this pattern for years. So has the United States. President Trump and Vice President Pence are making it clear that a new day has dawned. God give them the strength to do what needs to be done.
