President Trump and Democrat leaders were scheduled to discuss a big infrastructure plan at the White House yesterday. That meeting never happened. 

It fell apart after Speaker Nancy Pelosi accused the president of “engaging in a cover-up,” and as more members of her caucus demand Trump’s impeachment.

Exactly what the president is trying to cover up remains a mystery. Pelosi didn’t say. And there’s nothing for him to cover up. 

Special Counsel Robert Mueller has concluded his investigation. He spent more than $30 million. He issued 2,800 subpoenas and interviewed 500 witnesses. He found no evidence of collusion with Russia. 

Neither did the House Intelligence Committee or the Senate Intelligence Committee.

Yet today Democrats are banging the drum for impeachment louder than ever. 

It is time for them to move on! 

Meanwhile, there is one cover-up that voters do want exposed. A new poll finds that 62% of voters approve of Attorney General William Barr’s efforts to investigate the deep state and the origins of the Russia collusion hoax.

The Pro-Abortion Left

I noted in yesterday’s report that there were anti-life, pro-abortion rallies taking place all across the country. One of those rallies took place in Washington, D.C., on the steps of the Supreme Court.

Senator Mazie Hirono (D-HI) told the crowd that she recently spoke to 60 eighth graders in Hawaii about abortion. She said none of the girls in the group wanted to restrict abortion. Hirono said she asked the boys too, and none of them wanted to restrict abortion.

My first reaction was, “Why is any senator talking to eighth graders about abortion?” Children under 17 weren’t allowed to see a pro-life movie, but she’s talking to 13-year-old girls about having abortions? 

Rep. Jackie Spier (D-CA) was another speaker at the rally. Here’s what she told the crowd:

I am one of the one-in-four women in this country who have had an abortion. We are not strangers. We are wives, we are mothers, we are sisters, and we will not be stigmatized!

First of all, no one is trying to “stigmatize” anyone. The pro-life movement is all about caring for women and their unborn babies in difficult times. Helping women is what the vast network of pregnancy resource centers is all about. 

But what I found really disturbing is that the crowd roared back its applause as Spier “shouted her abortion.”

I don’t want to hear the left complain anymore when we call them “pro-abortion.” They claim they are only “pro-choice,” but this has gone well beyond “choice." 

Today’s left does not tolerate the pro-life choice when it comes to abortion. Nor will it entertain even the slightest limit to abortion. Today’s left is all about being pro-abortion. (See next item.)

At the same time that this accomplished congresswoman was bragging that she had allowed an abortionist to destroy the human life within her, other progressives were lambasting the Border Patrol because one 16-year-old boy in Border Patrol custody died from the flu. 

That death is tragic, but when 3,000 to 5,000 people are crossing the border every day it’s not surprising. People regularly die from the flu.

Meanwhile, Hollywood elites are vowing to "stand up for those who can’t stand up for themselves.” But they don’t mean unborn babies. No, what has pricked their collect conscience is chicken.

How does the same movement erupt in outrage about a single flu death or the conditions of chickens while at the same time applauding the destruction of innocent human life in the name of “choice”?

All in for Abortion on Demand

The power of the pro-abortion movement is so strong in today’s Democrat Party that Joe Biden now believes every taxpayer should be forced to subsidize the destruction of innocent unborn lives. 

Earlier this month, Biden announced his opposition to the Hyde Amendment — the 43-year-old law that bans taxpayer funding for abortions. Polling shows that voters overwhelmingly oppose subsidizing abortion with their tax dollars. 

Biden once bragged about the fact that he took a “middle of the road” approach to abortion by opposing taxpayer funding and late-term abortions. Not anymore.

Not to be outdone, Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) says that if elected president, he will create a White House Office on Reproductive Freedom. Can you image that? 

The next Democrat president is going to have an “abortion czar” working out of the White House whose sole job will be trying to increase the number of unborn babies killed every day.

That, my friends, is pro-abortion.

Carson Puts Americans First

Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson testified Tuesday on Capitol Hill. He was run through the wringer by left-wing members of Congress because he is following the law and putting American citizens first.

Federal law says that the government cannot subsidize housing for illegal immigrants. Last month, Carson announced that HUD would end Clinton-era regulations that violated the spirit of the law, if not the letter of the law. 

Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) blasted Carson’s approach as “cruel” to “families with mixed immigration statuses.” Translation: That’s families with illegal immigrants who are receiving public-housing subsidies. 

Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-NY) said Carson’s proposal was “despicable.” Rep. Juan Vargas (D-CA) called Carson’s new rule “mean-spirited.”

Dr. Carson stood his ground. He explained to these progressives:

As far as what we’re doing with housing, the law that has been provided through Congress states specifically that the secretary of HUD may not provide housing assistance to people who are here illegally…

There are hundreds of thousands of children, as well as elderly and disabled people on the waiting list who are legal American citizens…

It’s not that we’re cruel, mean-hearted.  It’s that we are logical. This is common sense. You take care of your own first… It seems only logical that tax-paying American citizens should be taken care of first.

Yes, it certainly seems logical, but the logic of putting America first is lost on the left.
