The threats to religious liberty and our constitutional rights are accelerating under the Biden regime. As we recently reported, Joe Biden is trying to force every American to subsidize abortion. He wants to force Christian doctors and hospitals to perform abortions and transgender surgeries.

Meanwhile, the case of former Washington State high school football coach Joe Kennedy was before the Supreme Court Monday.

The Marine veteran was offered a job coaching football at a high school in Bremerton, Washington. After every game, win or lose, he took a knee in prayer. Over time, some players started to join him, and you can imagine what happened next.

Some leftists were offended. Cowardly school officials ordered Kennedy to stop praying on the field. He refused, and was fired. And he’s been fighting for his religious liberty for the past seven years.

It’s shocking that he’s even having to fight this battle at all. America is not communist China! But Coach Kennedy is fighting for all of us and for freedom in America.

I won’t try reading the minds of the justices. There should be a solid majority in favor of his constitutional rights, but there’s no guarantee.

Here’s the real tragedy, in my view. While our schools are overrun with drugs and failing to actually educate, the left is going to the mat to force critical race theory and gender confusion on our children. But a coach praying on the football field is seen as a threat to our children.

Memo To Musk: The Battle Is Not Over

Elon Musk is the richest man in the world. I’m sure he’s not looking for my advice, but I know he needs our prayers. I suspect he’s also smart enough to realize that just because Twitter’s board of directors accepted his buyout offer, the battle is far from over. In fact, it’s just beginning.

Musk is about to experience the full weight of the left’s power, particularly if he dares to do what he appears to have motivated him — reestablishing Twitter as a serious platform for free speech.

Just to be clear, Musk has defined what he means by free speech. In a statement Monday, Musk declared, “Free speech is the bedrock of a functioning democracy.” He also tweeted this, “I hope that even my worst critics remain on Twitter, because that is what free speech means.”

In other words, it’s the right of someone you might despise to say something you totally disagree with. Yet you want them to be able to have that right because it is the only thing that allows you to do the same.

That belief was held deeply by our Founding Fathers, and widely held throughout our history. But it is increasingly rejected by the totalitarian left, including, ironically, many members of the media, academia and civil liberties groups like the ACLU, who are actually trying to silence free speech today.

Former President Barack Obama delivered an entire speech last week in which he declared that some speech or “disinformation” is a fundamental threat to America.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren on Monday declared that Elon Musk is “dangerous for our democracy.” Think about that. Our constitutional Republic was built on the premise of free speech, but now leftist politicians are defining it as dangerous to our freedom.

Senator Debbie Stabenow is really worried that Musk will allow Donald Trump back on Twitter. She said, “I don’t think someone who encouraged and organized a violent insurrection should be allowed on Twitter.”

First, Trump’s not interested in rejoining Twitter. Second, he did not “encourage and organize a violent insurrection.”

But Stabenow’s criteria would eliminate America’s Founding Fathers who definitely did encourage and organize a violent insurrection against British tyranny!

I guess Stabenow would ban the Federalist Papers or the Declaration of Independence from social media. Oh right — that’s actually happened already!

The left is suggesting that Musk will allow disinformation, misinformation and hate speech to dominate Twitter. Heck, he might even interfere with elections by “banning candidates” or “turning down their reach.”

Throughout our history, it has long been accepted that the antidote to bad speech is more speech, not to censor or limit speech. But if some kinds of speech cannot be tolerated, then someone must be empowered to do the judging, to enforce the censorship — and I guarantee it won’t be Christians or conservatives who are selected.

Once you buy into the left’s narrative of disinformation, misinformation and hate speech, free speech is in danger. AOC has her own ideas about a “ministry of truth.” Do we really want to go down that Orwellian road? I certainly hope not, but it’s already happening.

When some of us argued that COVID came out of a Wuhan lab or dared to question the “science,” we were banned from social media.

If someone refuses to call a biological man “she” or “her,” they are banned from social media. If you say, “Marriage is between a man and a woman,” some insist that’s hate speech.

If you say, “We need a border wall,” the left argues that’s hate speech against foreigners. If you believe life begins at conception, radical pro-abortionists call it hate speech against women.

Normal beliefs and the entire conservative movement are labeled as “white supremacy” and “hate speech.”

A Big Win — For Now

A Trump-appointed federal judge has issued a temporary injunction barring the Biden Administration from ending Title 42 enforcement at the southern border next month. Title 42 is a pandemic emergency public health order that allows the government to immediately deport illegal aliens caught trying to enter the country.

This is an important win for the Republican states that sued, but it’s only temporary. The Biden Administration is likely to appeal the judge’s order, even as it is planning for a flood of migrants at the border and even as a growing number of Democrats plead with the White House to keep Title 42 in place.

In related news, the Supreme Court heard a challenge yesterday to Biden’s efforts to undo the “remain in Mexico” policy, another critical Trump measure to combat illegal immigration and the rampant abuse of our asylum process.

While the outcome of these legal battles remains murky, what is absolutely clear is that Joe Biden is doing everything he can to undermine our border security and immigration laws.

House Republicans are now laying the groundwork to impeach Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas, but that misses the mark in my view. Yes, Mayorkas is failing to do his job, but he’s just following Biden’s orders.

The Big Guy Exposed?

The Daily Mail, a British media outlet, has done the kind of comprehensive investigative journalism into Joe Biden’s financial records that our media is unwilling to do. Here’s what the latest laptop revelations show:

• Joe Biden agreed to pay Hunter Biden’s legal fees for a deal with a Chinese government-controlled company, Bohai Harvest RST.

• Joe Biden came up with the money from the millions he and Jill earned after he left the vice presidency in 2017. Some of the cash came from book deals and speaking fees.

• BUT… Joe’s financial filings show he disclosed $7 million more on his income tax returns than he did in government transparency reports.

• After accounting for salaries earned by Jill, there is still a $5.2 million gap between what Joe’s company earned and his reports.

• The Daily Mail asks the obvious question: Did the extra millions represent “the big guy’s” cut from Hunter’s Chinese deals?

In addition, the New York Post has discovered that one of Hunter Biden’s key business associates visited the Obama White House 19 times, usually meeting with Biden’s staff but also with the vice president himself. Gee, I wonder what they were talking about?

And, of course, Big Media continue to ignore these reports, just as they ignored the news about Hunter’s laptop in 2020.
