Fifty-eight years ago, Ronald Reagan delivered the speech that launched his political career. He told the American people:

“You and I have a rendezvous with destiny. We’ll preserve for our children this, the last best hope of man on earth, or we’ll sentence them to take the last step into a thousand years of darkness.”

Such are the stakes this November after everything we’ve witnessed over the past 18 months. With each passing day, we’re closer to what is perhaps the most important midterm, non-presidential election in the history of our country.

This election will determine whether we stay on the course of big government socialism — trillions in spending and tens of thousands of new IRS agents — or whether we change course and preserve our freedom.

As you know, the Senate is literally divided 50/50, with Democrats controlling the chamber only because of Vice President Kamala Harris’s tie-breaking vote. In the House of Representatives, Speaker Nancy Pelosi rules with an iron first even though she commands the smallest majority in decades.

But Joe Biden, Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi have used those slim majorities to impose a radical agenda that is crushing the hopes and dreams of the American people.

To restore hope, we must vote for change — a change of leadership in Congress and a change of direction in America.

Sadly, I have heard from some folks in recent days who fear the left will cheat in the election again, so they’re not planning to vote this November.

Well, as the saying goes, the only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good people to do nothing. If millions of conservatives refuse to vote that only guarantees defeat. We need turnout numbers so big that cheating can’t overcome it!

Others who are anxious are emailing and asking, “Gary, what can we do?”

Well, let me say the obvious: You must vote. And you must find at least one other person who is on the fence and bring them our way.

Here’s something to keep in mind: Whoever controls the majority — even if it’s just by one vote — chooses the chairman of every committee in Congress. Those chairmen can then conduct investigations of the corruption that we’re seeing every day in Washington, D.C.

This corruption is so severe it could end the American Republic as we know it.

Our country is at a tipping point. This is not the time to give up on America. This is a time to fight for America!

But pledging to vote is not enough. We must do more.

Every one of us knows someone who shares our values but isn’t registered. Get them registered. It’s easy to do online.

We all know someone who is ill or in a nursing home. Make sure they are signed up to receive an absentee ballot, and make sure it is properly filled out and promptly returned.

Finally, we must be wise. There is no perfect candidate on the ballot, and we have a binary choice to make this November.

A moderate Republican is preferable to a Marxist progressive! That really shouldn’t be a hard call — not when our rights and cherished values are hanging by a thread!

And keep in mind that the very first vote every congressman casts is the vote to organize Congress — who sets the agenda, who controls the committees. That vote may well determine the fate of our Republic.

Wray’s Wrath

FBI Director Christopher Wray testified before the Senate last week. His testimony was robotic and emotionless, and he left before senators had finished asking all their questions.

But today Wray is angry because there are threats against him and FBI agents following the outrageous raid on President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home. Evidently, there was some kind of incident at an FBI office in Cincinnati yesterday.

This is a moment for clarity. It is not acceptable for anyone to make death threats against government officials and law enforcement. Period.

In fact, any loose talk about violence could very well be used by corrupt officials to further attack our constitutional liberties. So, it’s wrong morally and it’s stupid politically.

But here’s what I want to know.

Where was Wray’s passion and anger when the Russian collusion hoax was exposed?

Where was Wray’s passion and anger when a wannabe assassin threatened the lives of three Supreme Court justices?

Where is Wray’s concern about violence as dozens of churches and crisis pregnancy centers are being firebombed and attacked?

Where was Wray’s concern about violence when Joe Biden and other leftists accused police of being “systemically racist” or compared law enforcement officers to Nazis? Police officers are being killed in unprecedented numbers.

If you think I’m exaggerating just think back a few months. Attorney General Garland enlisted Director Wray to target concerned parents as domestic terrorists. Why? Because they dared to go to school board meetings to object to their children being called racists!

Here’s the bottom line: The Biden Administration plays the violence card whenever it suits them. Threats against Supreme Court justices, not so much. But emotional criticism of corruption in the FBI, well, that’s a dangerous threat.

Let me repeat: It is morally unacceptable to threaten or commit violence against government officials.

But this corrupt administration and the intolerant, totalitarian left, that is increasingly employing force and intimidation to crush dissent, has no claim to the moral high ground.

Playing The Hate Card

Over the weekend, President Joe Biden condemned the murders of four Muslim men in New Mexico. He said:

“I am angered and saddened by the horrific killings of four Muslim men in Albuquerque… my Administration stands strongly with the Muslim community. These hateful attacks have no place in America.”

While we can all agree that violent crime is inexcusable, I don’t recall seeing any statement from Biden condemning the violence in Chicago last weekend in which 54 people were shot and eight people were killed.

Does his administration not stand with the minority community in Chicago? He certainly isn’t saying anything about it, much less doing anything about it. But I digress.

His comments on the New Mexico murders were just another example of how quick the left is to play the race card and the hate crimes card. I suspect Biden and other leftists were eagerly jumping to conclusions about these murders and who might be responsible — you know, some “knuckle-dragging, Islamophobic MAGA type.”

Well, New Mexico police have a suspect in custody now and the left’s narrative has totally fallen apart. It turns out that the suspect is an Afghan Sunni Muslim who appears to have been targeting Shiite Muslims.

I predict you won’t hear much more about this story.

“Spectacular Backfire”

That’s how one anonymous source at the Department of Justice described the FBI’s Mar-a-Lago raid to Newsweek. The source added that all their planning accomplished “exactly the opposite” of what they had hoped to achieve, namely the execution of a “routine law enforcement action.”

If anyone actually believed that raiding a former president’s home was going to be a “routine action,” that person should be fired! But I’m not buying the spin.

Nevertheless, the FBI raid on Donald Trump’s home does appear to have spectacularly backfired. A new poll finds that the raid has really fired up conservatives to vote this November.

Not surprisingly, the FBI has lost the confidence of the American people. Only 40% of Americans believe “impartial justice” was behind the raid, while 48% believe “Trump’s political enemies” were responsible.

As for the potential political fallout, 83% of Republicans and 72% of Independents say the raid makes them more likely to vote this November, while only 55% of Democrats say the same.

Exposing Liberal Hypocrisy

As you know, Arizona Governor Doug Ducey and Texas Governor Greg Abbott have been sending busloads of illegal aliens to New York City and Washington, D.C. Both liberal cities pride themselves on their “sanctuary city” status.

But now the left-wing mayors of New York City and Washington, D.C., are furious that illegal aliens are being sent to their sanctuary cities.

Wednesday, three more buses from Texas carrying fewer than 100 illegal aliens arrived in New York City. An army of reporters and cameras were there to record the “influx of people.”

But more than 6,000 illegal aliens are crossing the southern border every single day! No one from the left-wing media cares about the burden on the people of Texas or Arizona.

Do you need any more evidence that the fake news media really is a propaganda arm of the left?
