Just in time to send a much-needed chill through the spines of all would-be illegal voters, the Trump administration announced a wave of arrests and indictments related to noncitizen voting and election fraud.
B-b-b-but we thought Donald Trump’s voter fraud claims were all just a big hoax.
Uh-huh. On the contrary, the number of arrests and indictments so far exceeds 200, and they put the lie to the Democrats’ broken-record of nothingtoseeheremovealong. And Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Harmeet Dhillon says that number could double soon.
“I think there are a lot of nervous election officials,” Dhillon told Just the News, “because I think some of them know that they’ve been looking the other way when this is happening, and we’re catching it all over the country.”
Maybe they’re getting nervous in New Jersey, for example, where 6,600 noncitizens were registered to vote because of, ahem, a computer glitch. “I’m not sure we have the correct numbers from New Jersey,” said Dhillon. “They’re not really cooperating with us, and so we will get to the bottom of what happened there.”
Last week, I pondered why Democrats en masse have all of a sudden embraced their inner Luddite about artificial intelligence and are now demanding an AI slow-down. But perhaps it isn’t so much an AI End Times that keeps them up at night. Perhaps their real concern is that AI is now being turned loose on their bread and butter, on the fraud that’s rampant throughout our institutions — from tax fraud, to Medicaid and Medicare fraud, to Social Security fraud, to, yes, voting fraud.
Think about how much more quickly an AI program could find unusually large numbers of people voting from a single residential address or people voting from a commercial address. Think about how quickly AI could find, for example, fraudulent or duplicate voter registrations, or instances of voting in more than one state, or voting more than once in the same precinct, or voting once by mail and once in person, or voting while at room temperature, as they often do in Chicago. The possibilities for ferreting out voter fraud nationwide are practically endless, if only both of our political parties were interested in doing so.
If only there were a publicly accessible state-by-state database of voter fraud cases. Oh, wait.
While we’re at it, maybe we could expand our sights beyond voter fraud and put the kibosh on all the foreign money that’s been flowing into the Democrats’ coffers via ActBlue and causing that corrupt organization’s leaders to keep pleading the Fifth.
Come to think of it, if AI could clean up our voter rolls and dry up all the foreign influence in our elections, maybe it would be the end of the world as the Democrats know it.
“We’re really on a roll now,” says Dhillon, “and in the last several weeks we have indicted and/or convicted 67 different individuals for election-related crimes at the Department of Justice. On top of that, our colleagues at the FBI and Homeland Security have made — Homeland Security has made 160-plus arrests, and [the] FBI is similarly working hard and knocking on doors.”
Dhillon adds, “The U.S. attorney’s offices around the country are united in pushing forward on this initiative. And whether they voted for a Republican or a Democrat, we don’t care. What we care about is that noncitizens who voted in a federal election canceled out the votes of American citizens. It does happen. It happens a lot more than anybody says.”
What difference does an administration make? Plenty. “It wasn’t being prosecuted under the Biden DOJ,” says Dhillon. “In the four years of the Biden DOJ, they prosecuted a total of 13 people for election-related crimes, and we’ve done more than that in the last week here at DOJ.”
And it’s not just the DOJ. This is a whole-of-federal-government effort. As Just the News adds, “Over the weekend, DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin [said] his agency is investigating 1,620 cases of voter fraud involving noncitizens and has made 151 arrests,” and he’s “also looking into an additional 300,000 cases based on states’ voter rolls.”
We still have a long way to go to fix our elections, but if word starts getting out that the Trump administration is taking voter fraud seriously and is arresting real people for real crimes, maybe these folks will start to wonder whether the fraudulent juice is worth the legal squeeze.
