Rachel Griffin Accurso, also known as Ms. Rachel, has long been loved by parents who use her YouTube channel to entertain their children. Ms. Rachel is a music educator who turned her teaching expertise into an educational show for infants and toddlers by incorporating speech therapy techniques and music. She has 21.5 million subscribers and is so popular that you may have seen plushies of her likeness in Target or Walmart.
Ms. Rachel has also become increasingly divisive since she hit it big during the COVID-19 lockdowns. The larger her platform grew, the more she promoted her preferred left-wing candidates. Are these run-of-the-mill Democrats? (Do those actually exist anymore?) No. They are dyed-in-the-wool socialists.
Hints of this political activism appeared during the New York City mayoral race in December 2025, when she joined Zohran Mamdani’s inaugural committee. She also had Mamdani on her show to advertise “free” childcare and bus services.
Since then, Ms. Rachel has used her show to promote LGBTQ individuals. She featured Jules Hoffman, who identifies as a transgender/nonbinary singer-songwriter and uses “they/them” pronouns. While Ms. Rachel has never out-and-out endorsed transing kids, she is very pointed about being “inclusive.” Who is consuming her content? Infants and toddlers. Ipso facto, she is indoctrinating children with gender pathology ideology.
Now Ms. Rachel has decided to put her influential weight behind the Palestinians, publicly calling Israel’s war in Gaza a “genocide.”
Who started the war? It wasn’t Israel.
Whose stated goal is to kill all the people of the other side? It isn’t Israel.
I tend to believe that most people are ignorant rather than outright malicious, and Ms. Rachel seems to operate from a sincere desire to be loving toward everyone. However, those good intentions have led her to some dark places — like matching Macklemore’s $1 million donation that was part of his horrific Ed Sheeran opener debacle and being a global brand ambassador for the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF).
Her work with the PCRF has called into question her understanding of what that organization funds. The PCRF has been flagged over and over again as a siphon for Hamas. Those funds aren’t going to the starving children in Gaza; they are going to the terrorists who build armories in the basements of their schools. Ms. Rachel genuinely wants to help suffering children, but at what cost? If the cost is her money going to the very terrorists who got those children caught up in the war, isn’t that counterintuitive?
Moreover, she had “journalist” Motaz Azaiza from Gaza on her show. Azaiza purposely didn’t publish his footage of Hamas’s October 7, 2023, massacre because he wanted to protect those doing the killing and murdering.
“It’s important to understand that she only cares about one narrative,” observes the Washington Examiner’s Bethany Mandel. “She only cares about this very false narrative where what’s happening in Gaza is a genocide, falsely categorizing it as such. She amplifies numbers that are not real, the numbers of deceased children, the numbers of people who have died in general, she’s accepting a Hamas narrative on every single thing and amplifying it.”
Ms. Rachel, whether she is a useful idiot or otherwise, is tainting her product with her activism.
In a Fox News opinion piece, columnist Karol Markowicz lays out the heart of the issue:
Accurso describes herself as a devout Christian but often uses it as cover to promote her far-left opinions. While she falsely describes what is happening in Gaza as a “genocide” and pushes what critics say are debunked stories such as mass starvation in Gaza, she also opposes ICE, supports reparations for the descendants of slaves and opposes the very existence of billionaires.
She foments racial strife, as when she said of the investigation into the death of a Black teenager, Nolan Wells, who died after a boat trip near Mississippi’s Horn Island, that “We know the investigation and everything that followed would have been different if Nolan Wells were White and his friends were Black. Nolan and his family deserve justice.” There is no evidence that the police racialized the investigation whatsoever.
Ms. Rachel will probably cross a line with parents, if she hasn’t already. Her activism is getting more outspoken and her content more polarizing. She herself has declared that she is going to put voices on her show that will “stop the genocide.” How will a show for infants and toddlers end a war in the Middle East?
Again, Ms. Rachel also claims to be a devout Christian, though she needs to be reminded that in Matthew 18:6, Jesus warns, “But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened round his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea.”
A grave warning for a serious breach of duty.
