A disturbing trend circulating on social media is exposing just how far some progressive women are willing to take their hatred of men. Women are posting videos announcing their pregnancies, only to declare that if their unborn baby is a boy, they intend to have an abortion.
Even more disturbing is the justification behind these announcements. Some women are framing sex-selective abortion as a moral obligation, claiming they’re protecting future generations of women by preventing potential rapists and abusers from ever being born.
Apparently, we’ve reached a point where an innocent baby boy can be found guilty of crimes he hasn’t committed, simply because he shares the same sex as men who have.
The viral post that appeared to spark this horrifying trend reportedly featured a woman sharing a positive pregnancy test, followed by an ultrasound revealing she was carrying a boy, and finally, an abortion appointment.
But rather than responding with shock or condemning the idea of aborting a baby simply because of its sex, the comment section was filled with women celebrating her announcement, with some proudly claiming they had made similar decisions themselves.
Others congratulated her for supposedly saving future female victims.
Conservative commentator Isabel Brown addressed the trend in a September 2026 episode of her podcast, highlighting the women expressing disgust over carrying boys and others celebrating sex-selective abortion.
Of the level of hostility toward boys being normalized online, Brown remarked, “I had no idea the internet was breeding such hatred toward baby boys, demonizing masculinity, and creating a culture that refuses to let boys grow into men.”
The irony is that sex-selective abortion is hardly a new phenomenon. For decades, countries including China and India have struggled with the devastating consequences of families choosing sons over daughters.
A 2019 study published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences estimated that approximately 23 million girls were missing worldwide because of sex-selective abortion, with the overwhelming majority of cases occurring in China and India.
As reported by LifeSiteNews, researchers attributed this imbalance to cultural preferences for sons, access to prenatal sex determination, and declining fertility rates.
As the report explained, “Most of these girls were aborted in mainland China, where 11.9 million girls are missing, and in India, where 10.6 million are missing. But according to the study’s authors, the absence of females is also statistically strong in other countries, most of which are in Asia and Eastern Europe.”
The consequences extend far beyond individual pregnancies. Entire populations have experienced significant gender imbalances, creating long-term demographic and social problems. And the effects aren’t limited to women. The shortage of women has also taken a serious toll on men, particularly those struggling to find partners and build families.
As one report explained, “It has also led to increased rates of suicide, depression, and substance abuse among unmarried men.”
Yet despite these devastating consequences, sex-based discrimination continues.
In May 2026, Live Action reported that parts of Central Asia were experiencing similarly troubling patterns, with some areas recording approximately 110 boys for every 100 girls. Cultural expectations and family pressure continue to influence decisions about whether unborn daughters are allowed to live.
These practices have rightly been condemned as discriminatory and harmful to women.
Now the same arguments used to champion women’s equality are being twisted to justify discrimination against boys, as though the very prejudice women have spent decades condemning suddenly becomes acceptable when directed at the opposite sex.
That’s where the hypocrisy becomes especially apparent. These women claim to be fighting sexism and advocating for equality, while openly celebrating the rejection of unborn boys simply because they’re male. Yet feminism was supposed to challenge the idea that someone’s sex determines their value, character, or opportunities.
Their argument relies on the assumption that because men commit a disproportionate share of violent crimes, every boy represents a potential threat.
That’s not equality. It’s collective punishment based on sex, rather than holding individuals accountable for the choices they actually make.
This mindset also ignores something fundamental about raising children. Boys aren’t born destined to become predators simply because they’re male. They have just as much potential to grow into loving husbands, devoted fathers, responsible citizens, and men who make meaningful contributions to society. And as parents, we have an obligation to shape the kind of people our children become through the values we instill, the behavior we model, and the lessons we teach about treating others with dignity and respect.
If these women are genuinely concerned about the way some men treat women, then perhaps they should focus their energy on raising boys who will become the kind of men society needs. That’s an opportunity to create meaningful change, but instead, they’re choosing to view an innocent child as a threat simply because of their personal animosity toward men in general.
Perhaps the most disturbing aspect of this trend is the attempt to disguise blatant prejudice as female empowerment, justified under the guise of a woman’s right to choose. Defenders insist that any reason for abortion is acceptable because it’s a woman’s choice, as though having the freedom to make a decision automatically makes it morally justified. But freedom of choice doesn’t eliminate personal responsibility or place anyone above criticism.
These women aren’t advancing equality. They’re positioning themselves as heroes for supposedly having the courage to protect women at any cost, as though abandoning every moral boundary is some extraordinary act of bravery rather than a disturbing display of moral bankruptcy.
There’s nothing brave, empowering, or morally admirable about condemning a child for crimes they haven’t committed, whether that child is a boy or a girl. It’s discrimination in its ugliest form, and calling it feminism doesn’t make it any less abhorrent.
A society that genuinely values equality and its own humanity cannot justify discrimination based on who’s on the receiving end. You don’t fight sexism by becoming sexist, and you don’t create a more compassionate world by teaching people to hate an entire sex.
And you certainly don’t get to claim the moral high ground when your idea of morality involves punishing innocent babies.
