Tuesday: Below the Fold

Joe Biden is sad about Hunter, an LGBTQ insurrection, Nike kneels for the thugs, and more.

Cross-Examination

  • Joe Biden is sad about Hunter: Apparently, Joe Biden was “stunned” when the sweetheart plea deal between the Justice Department and Hunter Biden collapsed. With the prospect of his son facing a criminal trial, Biden has reportedly been “plunged into sadness and frustration.” Apparently, Biden’s sadness and frustration is over the fact that his son might be held accountable for his crimes. The New York Times reports that some of Joe’s allies are blaming the situation on his “apparent inability to say no when Hunter sought to pull him into his business dealings.” That’s one way to spin it, but it obfuscates the fact that evidence is showing that the senior Biden has long been acting in cahoots with his son. The frustration Biden is feeling likely stems from the fact that, even with all kinds of help from sweetheart Special Counsel David Weiss, more Americans are learning about the Biden Crime Family.

  • LGBTQ insurrection: On Monday, seven LGBTQ protesters stormed into House Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s office, planting themselves on the floor and making demands that House Republicans reauthorize funding for a global AIDS relief program. The leftist organization Housing Works, of which the protesters were members, posted on X, “We’re proud to use nonviolent civil disobedience, among other tactics, to demand that our government take action to end AIDS.” All seven of the protesters were arrested by Capitol Police. Will these LGBTQ insurrectionists face the same heavy-handed “justice” meted out by Biden’s DOJ against the J6 protesters?

  • Immigration flap continues: Joe Biden’s border malfeasance has produced a mass migration of illegal aliens into the U.S. It’s not only creating headaches for Democrat leaders in self-declared “sanctuary” regions like Chicago and New York City, but it’s threatening to create a rift within his own party. Republicans are exploiting that rift by simply holding the line opposing this illegal mass migration policy. That opposition combined with Democrat leaders increasingly begging for more help to deal with the migrant crisis has motivated more than 100 House Democrats to send a letter to DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas calling on the administration to “use all the tools available” to help these illegal aliens “seeking to work lawfully, support their families, and contribute to the economy.” The letter continues by calling on Biden to “ease the undue delays in granting work authorizations to asylum seekers.” Of course, they also blame “extreme MAGA Republicans” for preventing the passing of any legislative solution. The real solution is for the Biden administration to do its job and enforce border law.

  • Nike kneels for the thugs: Portland, Oregon, is suffering the results of embracing the Left’s toxic woke ideology of grievance identity politics that eschews holding individuals to account for their own actions and instead spins all the blame for criminal behavior onto broader society. Well, Nike, one of the wokest of woke companies, the company that made race grifter Colin Kaepernick its marketing face, is permanently closing its flagship store in Portland, the first store Nike opened back in 1990. The reason? High crime. Nike went to Mayor Ted Wheeler seeking a greater police presence around the store to help with shoplifting and other crimes. Nike even offered to pay for the police, but city leaders refused. So, now Nike is out.

  • Coast-to-coast Dem debauchery: A Democrat candidate running for a seat in Virginia’s House of Delegates, Susanna Gibson, a 40-year-old mother of two and a nurse practitioner, was recently outed for streaming live sex acts online. To make matters worse, Gibson repeatedly engaged in this activity even after she had entered the race in September of last year. In one of her videos, she reportedly asked viewers to contribute “tips” to help her in “raising money for a good cause.” Meanwhile, on the other side of the country, Burbank, California, Mayor Konstantine Anthony was filmed getting spanked by a drag queen at a Democrat fundraiser. The video was originally posted to Instagram where Anthony wrote, “Jealous?” After the video was picked up and posted by Libs of TikTok, Anthony defended the incident, noting: “No children were in attendance. All attendees were over 21 years of age.” Democrats: The NC-17 Party.

  • Hurricane Lee threatens offshore wind farms: As of today, Hurricane Lee is a Category 3 storm with sustained winds near 115 miles an hour. The good news is the storm is forecast to weaken over the next few days and is expected to mostly steer clear of the Eastern Seaboard. However, it could come close enough to present a threat to wind farms off the coast. The impact of hurricane-force winds on wind turbines is not fully known. Several studies have been conducted that have come to varying different conclusions, from little damage to serious devastation. What they all do show is the inherent problems associated with renewable energy. If a massive hurricane took out a significant number of offshore wind turbines, that could have huge long-term power ramifications for communities along the Eastern Seaboard. Completely replacing fossil fuel-based power with renewables in ideal weather situations is still not viable, let alone when the weather gets bad.
