Pennsylvania recount, Harris wanted to circumvent marijuana imbroglio on Rogan, Florida takes on FEMA, and more.
PA recount: Pennsylvania Democrat Senator Bob Casey lost his reelection bid to Republican challenger Dave McCormick but has refused to concede. McCormick leads Casey by about 27,000 votes, but since the margin is within half a percentage point, the Keystone State announced on Wednesday that it was initiating a mandatory recount. This costly recount will likely result in only a few hundred flipped votes at most, far from the number that Casey needs to change the election outcome. Given this reality, Casey is also trying to change the rules and is contesting several counties’ rejection of ballots that were cast by unregistered voters. McCormick campaign attorney James Fitzpatrick observed, “There is zero legal precedent to count the votes of unregistered voters in Pennsylvania.” The recount is scheduled to begin no later than November 20 and must be completed by noon on November 26, with the results published the following day.
Harris wanted to circumvent marijuana imbroglio on Rogan: Donald Trump sitting for a three-hour interview with podcaster Joe Rogan may go down as a pivotal moment in U.S. presidential election history, signaling new media’s rising influence over legacy media. It was a moment that was made more significant by Kamala Harris’s decision not to do Rogan’s podcast despite his repeated invitations. Rogan recently shed more light on the failed negotiations with Harris’s campaign, explaining, “They had requirements on things that she didn’t want to talk about. She didn’t want to talk about marijuana legalization, which I thought was hilarious.” When asked why Harris’s campaign would have drawn a red line regarding weed, Rogan observed, “Because of her prosecuting record. She put a lot of people in jail for weed.” He’s right.
Trump vs. the climate cult: On his list of Day One priorities, Donald Trump is again planning to withdraw the U.S. from the Paris Climate Accord. Trump kept this same promise early in his first term, which Joe Biden immediately reversed upon taking office. Trump’s argument for removing the U.S. from the climate accord remains the same: the agreement does little except handicap the U.S. and other developed nations by imposing higher emissions standards than developing nations. In truth, it’s a self-flagellating climate alarmist virtue signal. Also on the chopping block are Biden’s EV mandate and tax credits. Moreover, Trump is floating the idea of moving the headquarters of the Environmental Protection Agency and its 7,000 employees out of Washington, DC. We suggest relocating them to someplace like Minot, North Dakota. We’re certain that EPA bureaucrats would love the winters there, helping them consider climate change from a different perspective.
Pelosi’s BIG lie: During a recent interview with The New York Times, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi made another ridiculous claim about the border: “I don’t think we were clear enough by saying fewer people came in under President Joe Biden than came under Donald Trump.” With millions of illegal aliens having flooded the U.S. thanks to Biden’s border malfeasance, making immigration a top issue in the election, even The Washington Post could not abide Pelosi’s blatant lie. The Leftmedia outlet fact-checked Pelosi, observing that it was “documented fact” that “at least four times as many migrants entered the United States under Biden than under Trump.” The Post gave Pelosi’s claim “Four Pinocchios,” its highest rating.
Florida takes on FEMA: Following revelations that a FEMA administrator directed employees to instruct relief workers to avoid the homes of Trump supporters in the wake of Hurricanes Helene and Milton, Florida filed a discrimination lawsuit against the agency. The lawsuit alleges, “While the facts will continue to come out over the weeks and months, it is already clear that Defendant Washington conspired with senior FEMA officials, as well as those carrying out her orders, to violate the civil rights of Florida citizens.” A statement from Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody reads, “Hurricane season is not over, and the federal agency in charge of emergency response is embroiled in scandal — caught withholding aid from storm victims in Florida who support President Trump. I am taking swift legal action to find out how far this political discrimination reaches and to make sure all Americans who fall victim to devastating storms are served, regardless of their political affiliation." The lawsuit will help expose how deep-seated this anti-Trump corruption is within FEMA.
The Onion’s InfoWars: The Onion, a formerly humorous satire website, announced that it purchased Alex Jones’s InfoWars media site. And no, this is not a joke. After losing a defamation lawsuit raised by the families of the victims of the Sandy Hook school attack, Jones was ordered to pay a whopping $1.5 billion in damages. That decision bankrupted Jones, and a judge ordered his personal assets liquidated in order to pay off the debt. Ben Collins, CEO of The Onion’s parent company Global Tetrahedron, explained, "We thought this would be a hilarious joke. This is going to be our answer to this no-guardrails world where there are no gatekeepers, and everything’s kind of insane.” The Onion plans to relaunch InfoWars as a parody site that mocks itself by spinning ridiculous conspiracy theories. Jones responded to news of the purchase on social media, saying it was a “total attack on free speech” and calling it “the tyranny of the New World Order, desperate to silence the American people.”
