Leftists Threaten Thanksgiving Boycott
Some unhinged women are now declaring they won’t attend holiday gatherings with conservative relatives.
On a day when we should be sitting down and thanking God for the fact that we live in the freest nation on earth, many Democrats, particularly women, are declaring that they will boycott Thanksgiving with those family members who voted for Donald Trump. In fact, nearly a quarter of Americans are contemplating skipping Thanksgiving in order to snub family members with whom they politically disagree.
Beyond sour grapes, here are their reasons.
Leftist women don’t want to serve food to conservative relatives.
Many of the women posting online about their Thanksgiving boycott rant that they’ll be darned if they have to slave away cooking and cleaning for their Trump-supporting relatives. Ostensibly, these right-of-center relatives don’t respect democracy or women’s rights; therefore, they don’t deserve their food.
As amusing as this declaration is — and one can’t help but wonder if these women are even the type to slave away in the kitchen on Thanksgiving — it is yet another way in which radical feminism is tearing culture apart. These women are using femininity in the form of preparing and serving a Thanksgiving meal to spite the men in their lives.
After the election, some radical feminists shaved their heads, swore off men, and otherwise pitched a tantrum about losing the election and their “rights.” Now they’re declaring that they won’t serve their family members a meal.
What exactly does Thanksgiving meal service stand for? Love. It’s an act of service to show affection for your family regardless of differences of opinion. But these narcissistic women are withholding love because they didn’t get their way.
Leftist women are legitimately afraid they aren’t safe.
This one is best summed up by the ridiculous MSNBC host Joy Reid. On X, Reid addressed conservatives saddened by the fact that their family members decided not to come to celebrate the holiday with them because of political differences. She groused: “If you think that you can vote for what people see as their destruction and then demand that they still are cool with you … and have Thanksgiving with you, I think you’re kind of missing the point of what people are upset about. They’re afraid. And autocracy and fascism are things that are legitimate to be afraid of. So, you may want to step back.”

It’s this sort of babbling that leftist women have listened to for too long. These dishonest talkingheads have been telling them for almost a decade now that conservatives are the enemy and that Donald Trump is the second coming of Adolf Hitler. Now that they’ve lost, they feel like they have even more license to attack and that they should be fearful.
It is folly on their part.
Leftist women don’t want to be challenged on their political beliefs.
This one feels particularly silly. Perhaps that’s because, as a conservative woman who lived in deep-blue Illinois for half her life, I am used to having to either avoid politics in regular conversation or be solid enough in my political beliefs to face an ideological challenge.
While it never feels nice to be challenged on political beliefs, the desire not to be ostracized is a shared human characteristic. However, isn’t the fact that they were invited to Thanksgiving the exact opposite of being ostracized?
These women are being included; they just don’t want to have a conversation outside of their own echo chamber. That attitude is 100% the problem with our culture today. Not being willing to have a discussion in a rational and calm manner and still remain friends is ridiculous. It all goes back to the fact that these women are convinced that conservatives are the personally threatening enemy.
It’s not true, but it’s what they believe — and this sort of rhetoric only comes up when a leftist’s preferred candidate didn’t win.
As Focus on the Family’s Paul Batura notes, “If this theme sounds familiar, it’s because we read the same types of stories around the holidays in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019. They began to fade after President Joe Biden took up residence at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. It seems conservatives can peacefully navigate their liberal relatives — but liberal relatives find it more difficult to get along with their right-leaning loved ones.”
To paraphrase our current president, Joe Biden, you can’t only love your family when you win.
Final Thoughts
While I believe most women posting these frivolous declarations online are doing it more for clicks than out of true, heartfelt convictions, the fact that such things have been said at all is disturbing.
I’d encourage them to have hard conversations with their relatives. Leftists have lived in their echo chambers for too long. They have digested all the lies they’ve been fed; ergo, they cannot even see that the Party of Unity™ is encouraging them to separate from their families.
If they can’t handle a political conversation (which clearly some of them can’t), perhaps they should ask family members ahead of time to avoid politics and instead focus on catching up. At the end of the day, the government isn’t going to mourn you at your funeral, but your family just might. So grow up, suck it up, and act like a decent adult. You might find that these people who love you aren’t your enemy after all.
