Mamdani’s Marxist Message
The danger here is not just that Mamdani is mayor of New York City. The danger is that he represents the rising wing of the Democrat Party.
Zohran Mamdani was sworn in as mayor of New York City on New Year’s Day. His inaugural address was shocking in its anti-Americanism. Here are a few excerpts:
“Thank you to the man whose leadership I seek most to emulate, who I am so grateful to be sworn in by today—Senator Bernie Sanders… Beginning today, we will govern expansively and audaciously…
"To those who insist that the era of big government is over, hear me when I say this—no longer will City Hall hesitate to use its power to improve New Yorkers’ lives…
"We will replace the frigidity of rugged individualism with the warmth of collectivism… I was elected as a Democratic socialist and I will govern as a Democratic socialist.”
Nobody has promoted collectivism in America since the 1920s and 30s. That’s straight out of Marxism and fascism! Just ask the people of Venezuela, Cuba, and North Korea about the “warmth of collectivism.”
The danger here is not just that Mamdani is mayor of New York City. The danger is that he represents the rising wing of the Democrat Party. This is who they are—socialists and Marxists.
When President Trump described Katie Wilson, Seattle’s new mayor, as “a very, very liberal slash communist mayor,” Wilson didn’t deny it. She said, “It’s nice to feel seen.”
Don’t miss what’s happening here.
A surprising number of Democrat leaders immediately came to Nicolas Maduro’s defense and accused President Trump of “war crimes” and impeachable offenses. (Here, here, and here.) This mindset is dangerous, and it’s gaining power. These Democrats are aligning themselves with our enemies and Maduro’s allies—communist China, Iran, Russia, Hezbollah, etc., etc.
It also shows you that this battle is not just between two parties with some significant differences, but whether we will go the way of Venezuela or remain the free country our Founders created.
Personnel Is Policy
Mayor Mamdani wasted no time in demonstrating his radical instincts. He immediately repealed orders recognizing a widely accepted definition of antisemitism, banning boycotts against Israel, and requiring police to increase patrols around churches, synagogues, and mosques. The Israeli Foreign Ministry blasted Mamdani, declaring:
“On his very first day as New York City mayor, Mamdani shows his true face: He scraps the IHRA definition of antisemitism and lifts restrictions on boycotting Israel. This isn’t leadership. It’s antisemitic gasoline on an open fire.”
Don’t think it’s just one crazy guy who is running New York City. Mamdani is empowering other radicals just like him.
- Mamdani appointed Ramzi Kassem to be New York City’s chief legal counsel. Kassem has previously defended Al Qaeda terrorists and Columbia University’s pro-Hamas agitator Mahmoud Khalil.
- He appointed Cea Weaver as the new director of the Office to Protect Tenants. In the past, Weaver has supported the election of communists to public office, called for private property to be seized, and declared that “homeownership is a weapon of white supremacy.”
- Mamdani also appointed several Democrat Socialists of America organizers to key positions in his administration.
That’s who is now running New York City.
In addition, Governor Kathy Hochul just ordered 16 New York landmarks to be lit up in green for Muslim American Heritage Month. One of these iconic sites is One World Trade Center, built after the Islamic terror attack on 9/11 that destroyed the World Trade Center towers. By the way, does New York celebrate a Christian American Heritage Month?
