Leftmedia Spears Team USA
Instead of celebrating the spectacular accomplishment of Team USA, Trump-deranged Leftmedia attacked the American team for having dared to associate with the American president.
The derangement is strong with these ones.
Perhaps, like me, you’re still basking in the glow of that spectacular Olympic gold-medal sweep by Team USA in Canada’s national sport — one win by a men’s team that wasn’t as good on paper as the Canadians, and another by a women’s team that smashed their seven opponents by a combined score of 33-2 and was the most dominant team in the entire Olympics. (And just think: If Canadian PM Mark Carney had accepted Donald Trump’s generous offer of becoming our 51st state, all of our Canadian brethren would be gold medalists, too.)
Or perhaps, unlike me, you’re a Trump-deranged loon and you can’t take even a smidgen of satisfaction in the most riveting performance by an American team in any sport in nearly half a century … because the young men who carried it off didn’t crap on their country like Hunter Hess and Chris Lillis and Amber Glenn, and didn’t compete for the commies like Eileen Gu, and instead committed the unpardonable sins of visiting the White House and attending the American president’s State of the Union.
Psychologically speaking — hey, I was a psych minor — that’s a tough stretch of real estate to stake out and defend between one’s ears. But it’s a free country.
Worst of all, though, are the Trump-deranged Leftmedia journalists — but I repeat myself — like Sally Jenkins, Keith Olbermann, and Symone Sanders, all of whom are trying to undermine our men’s team’s performance, ostensibly for having laughed at Trump’s post-game joke about having to also invite the Team USA women to the White House.
“I must tell you,” said Trump in the spur of the moment on a cellphone amid a raucous locker room, “we’re going to have to bring the women’s team, you do know that. I do believe I probably would be impeached, okay?”
Jenkins, who writes for The Atlantic, seemed weirdly obsessed with the TV ratings of NHL hockey: “To those on the men’s USA hockey team who laughed at the prospect of sharing a White House visit with women, the NHL frequently trails the WNBA in ratings.”
Of course, the proper comparison isn’t between men’s professional hockey and women’s professional basketball; it’s between men’s hockey and women’s hockey. And in that comparison, well, it’s no comparison.
After taking some incoming flak, Jenkins responded with taunts. “Ooooohh, the bitterness of hockey guys,” Jenkins said in one of many since-deleted posts.
Olbermann, for his part, called our boys “too stupid, self-absorbed and misogynistic to realize that going [to the State of the Union address] will stick to them permanently,” while Sanders said they “allowed themselves to be used [by Trump] as political props.”
Our boys took the high road when asked about Trump’s remarks. And Golden Goal scorer Jack Hughes didn’t take the Trump-deranged bait. “Like, you’re in the moment, the president calls,” he mused. “Like, we were blaring, we’re blaring the music, like, then they pause the music, and then the president calls. So I don’t think, like, obviously it is what it is now, but, like, we have so much respect for the women’s team, they have so much respect for us, and we’re all just proud Americans, and you know we’re happy that we both swept, swept the Olympics.”
Thank you.
In any case, it’s telling that these leftist journos are pretending to stand up for the Team USA women, but where have they been while our girls and women are being forced to compete against boys and men?
Folks, you don’t hate our mainstream media nearly enough.
Last night, though, NHL fans en masse gave Jenkins, Olby, Sanders, and their ilk a stiff poke-check to the liver. See for yourself:
Pittsburgh Penguins fans gave a standing ovation to New Jersey Devils player Jack Hughes, who scored the winning goal for the US to win the gold medal. NHL fans everywhere are giving a gigantic middle finger to sports media & Dems who ripped him: pic.twitter.com/HIVReiJDZV

Mind you, this wasn’t a home game for Hughes and his New Jersey Devils. This ovation came on the road, from Pittsburgh Penguins fans.
On Wednesday night, Devils fans showed their patriotism and expressed their appreciation for Hughes while at the same time booing their Democrat governor, Mikie Sherrill. Yep, in deep-blue New Jersey. As Brendan Michael Dougherty writes at National Review:
If you had just read about the Olympic hockey team, or listened to reports about it on NPR, you’d have thought there was massive public controversy. Meanwhile, at Newark’s Prudential Center, Jack Hughes was greeted with a universal enthusiasm rarely seen in public life. The actual ticket-paying hockey fan has little or no contact with the worldview of the sportswriters. The only slightly sour note to Wednesday’s valedictory celebration in New Jersey was the appearance of Democratic Governor Mikie Sherrill, who was met with boos from the crowd when her presence was merely meant to honor and magnify that of Hughes.
“Slightly sour”? It sounded like sweet music to me.
In this world, don’t be a Hunter Hess. Be a Jack Hughes. Play your heart out for your team, be grateful you’re an American, and leave the politics to the punditry.
