A Fraudulent Impeachment

Long-withheld documents reveal just how treacherous the Democrats were in their efforts to impeach Trump for his phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Don’t look now, but we’re running out of F-words to describe the historical blights of Donald Trump’s first term in office.

First, we had the Russia collusion scandal, and the Steele dossier, and the “pee tape,” and the firing of James Comey. Then we had the “whipping” of Haitian illegals, and the caging of illegal immigrant kids, and the smearing of our fallen warriors at the military cemetery in France, and the Zelensky phone call and the subsequent “abuse of power” impeachment, and the downplaying of the COVID pandemic and the recommendation to inject bleach as a means of killing the virus, and Hunter’s “Russian disinformation” laptop and the “Gang of 51” letter, and the unarmed non-insurrection of January 6, 2021, and the E. Jean Carroll “sexual abuse” case, and the Stormy Daniels campaign finance caper, and the post-election ballot interference in Georgia, and the squirreling away of documents at Mar-a-Lago, and a bevy of other scandals that I’m no doubt forgetting.

What do all these things have in common? That’s right. They’re all missing an F-word as an essential adjective: fake, false, faux, forged, fictitious, fallacious, fraudulent, fabricated, fantastical.

Pretty soon, we’ll be dusting off “phantasmagoric.”

Today, though, I want to focus on the Ukrainian affair because we were led to believe that Trump’s conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was somehow worthy of the third impeachment of a president in our nation’s history. It wasn’t. Not even close.

Recently released documents from Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard support what many of us had long suspected: that a mysterious so-called whistleblower named Eric Ciaramella was in fact a deep state CIA operative from the Obama administration who peddled third-hand — or was it fourth-hand? — hearsay information that became the essence of the first impeachment case against Trump. As Gabbard put it in a press release:

Deep state actors within the Intelligence Community concocted a false narrative that was used by Congress to usurp the will of the American people and impeach the duly-elected President of the United States.

Inspector General Atkinson failed to uphold his responsibility to the American people, putting political motivations over the truth. And this, along with the politicization of the whistleblower process by a former CIA employee who was working hand in glove with Democrats in Congress, are egregious examples of the deep state playbook on how to weaponize the Intelligence Community.

Exposing these tactics and showing how they undermine the fabric of our democratic republic furthers the critical cause of transparency and accountability and will help prevent future abuse of power.

So there you have it. Say what you will about Master Griller Chuck Schumer, but he was dead-on when he warned Trump against tangling with our nation’s deep state apparatus: “Let me tell you, you take on the intelligence community, they have six ways from Sunday at getting back at you.”

The Federalist’s Hans Mahncke outlines the Democrats’ treachery this way: “The newly released documents show a coordinated effort to frame President Trump over a phone call with Ukrainian President Zelensky. A manufactured narrative was elevated and then used by Congress in an attempt to overturn the outcome of an election and, effectively, shape the next one by pursuing impeachment over a routine diplomatic exchange.”

Yep, a routine diplomatic exchange. Recall that Joe Biden had Ukrainian special prosecutor Viktor Shokin fired because he was getting too close to the corruption of Hunter Biden’s money-for-nothing Ukrainian energy employer, Burisma. And then he bragged about it in front of the cameras.

All Donald Trump was trying to do was get the notoriously corrupt Ukraine to clean up its dirty act before the U.S. sent $400 million in military aid. Where I come from, that’s called being a good steward of the American taxpayers’ money.

If you’ll recall, the 2019 impeachment of Trump was predicated on the secretive whistleblowing of one Eric Ciaramella, who, as it turns out, is anything but a disinterested party. Indeed, he was a rabid partisan. As Just the News’s Jerry Dunleavy reports, “The newly-released memos from 2019 laid out multiple self-admitted potential biases tied to Ciaramella’s Democratic Party registration, his work for Joe Biden, his knowledge of corruption-related discussions on Ukraine, his view that he had been pushed out of the Trump NSC because of ‘right wing bloggers,’ and more — some of which were never made public until Sunday, and many of which were concealed from House investigators when the intelligence community inspector general appeared before them in October 2019.”

No wonder the Democrats and their mainstream media trucklings were so insistent on protecting this guy’s identity and keeping him from having to testify before Congress. He was a partisan stooge, and he wasn’t privy to any first-hand information about Trump’s phone call with Zelensky. And yet he was the “whistleblower” who got Trump impeached. Outrageous.

The Gabbard documents have members of Congress such as New York Congresswoman Claudia Tenney and legal experts such as former Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz suggesting that the impeachment itself should be expunged, wiped from the historical record.

“I think it is time that we expunge this impeachment and get rid of it,” said Tenney, who sits on the House Intelligence Committee. “Historically, we need to show that we’re going to stand up for the rule of law, for truth and justice. And this was unfairly done to President Trump.”

What’s more, Gabbard has also sent two criminal referrals to the Department of Justice: one for the aforementioned Intelligence Community Inspector General Michael Atkinson, and the other for that deeply compromised dirty rat Ciaramella. Said Gabbard, matter-of-factly: “I want to refer information that may constitute possible criminal activity in violation of federal criminal law committed by one or more former employees of the intelligence community.”

Of course, DC is a rigged town, and it’s been seven years since those impeachment proceedings, so the statute of limitations has run out. Thus, the only hope of bringing any justice to the perpetrators is tying this scheme into the overall Grand Conspiracy web that the DOJ is currently investigating.

But in any case, at least we now have a public record of the fraudulent nature of the Democrats’ dirty, partisan scheme to both politically wound and legally railroad a duly elected American president.
