To a racist, everything is racism.

Outgoing Texas Democrat Representative Jasmine Crockett has a track record of demonstrating this reality in spades.

Since losing the Democrat Senate primary to James Talarico, a white man, Crockett has “uncovered” the primary culprit for her loss. “It was racist. It was a racist race,” she recently declared. “But we live in America as y'all are celebrating 250. We know what this country is.”

Questioned as to whether she would support Talarico in the general election against Republican candidate Ken Paxton, Crockett answered, “We have never seen anybody, quote unquote, be pressured to jump into a Senate race to help out their opponent that beat them.” She added, “And it just so happens that it ended up being a high-profile black woman.”

Her race-consciousness didn’t end there, as she groused, “I am nobody’s footstool, but I believe in doing everything that I can … specifically for black people.”

Crockett let her racism fly during congressional hearings regarding the state of the Smithsonian Institution, which the Trump administration’s recent report designated as woke. “Welcome to the Republicans’ white pride rally disguised as a congressional hearing,” she ridiculously said. “It might be uncomfortable for some people on this committee to hear about the true history of America, and I hate that for them. But facts are facts.”

Really? No one is denying America’s history of slavery and racial segregation, but when racial grievance is your political bread and butter, any suggestion that American history is much more than its sins is equivalent to denying history.

As Crockett further opined, “It’s a fact that there is a violent, exclusionary, discriminatory, sexist, and racist part of American history, where our indigenous populations were forcibly displaced from their land, where thousands of black people were unjustly lynched, where black people were denied the right to vote, and they still trying to do it today.”

Who, exactly, is trying to deny black Americans the right to vote? If she’s referring to the SAVE Act and voter ID requirements, the truly racist position is her implication that blacks are somehow less capable than whites of producing a photo ID.

Indeed, the one who displayed racism at the hearing was Crockett. Another example was so off the wall that it left even her Democrat colleagues scratching their heads. Noting the recent Spain vs. Argentina World Cup final, which the U.S. hosted, Crockett charged, “And it seemed like the vast majority of the world was rooting for Argentina … or, actually, against Argentina, right?” She then asked Yale historian David Blight, who was testifying, “And why was that? Just give me an explanation if you can guess.”

Blight answered, “Spain had the best team. Maybe that’s why they were rooting for them.”

Somewhat bewildered, Crockett responded that Spain has “a racist history that exists as it relates to Argentina.” What?

Crockett also weighed in on the tragic death of a black teenager, Nolan Wells, which occurred over the Independence Day celebration. Wells was found dead, of apparent drowning, just off of a Mississippi island where he and three of his friends, who all happened to be white, had gone to celebrate the 4th of July. There is nothing to indicate foul play. Wells’s three friends apparently left the island without him, as they lost track of him amid the crowd of other boaters on the island.

While local police are still investigating Wells’s death, that didn’t stop Crockett from asserting a nefarious racial motive behind it, as she noted Mississippi’s history of slavery and segregation. No evidence at this point suggests this was a crime, let alone a racially motivated one. But when all you see is race, then every exchange, every event, every action or inaction is permeated with racism.

It will be a good thing for the country when Crockett is no longer prowling the halls of Congress peddling her racial grievance grift.
