Johnson for DHS Secretary
Instrumental in repealing “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.”
“President Obama will announce Friday that he is nominating former Defense Department general counsel Jeh Johnson to be the next Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security,” reports CBS News. Johnson would replace Janet Napolitano, who left for the University of California system. Naturally, any Obama nominee for any post is going to cause heartburn for conservatives, but Johnson’s special qualification is that, as a senior lawyer at the Department of Defense, he was instrumental in repealing “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.”.
