George Will aptly summed up the difference between private and public sector failures: "The basic rule is when there's no penalty for failure, failures multiply. In the private sector, failure is you run out of money, you go bankrupt, you disappear. In the public sector you have the police power to raise taxes, you have a printing press so you never disappear."
