The House of Representatives overwhelmingly approved an extension to the ban on plastic guns Tuesday for an additional 10 years. We don’t oppose legislation that would prevent guns going through security check points without being visible to security, though the likelihood of this is minimal. However, we also note that anyone looking to commit violence in an airport or anywhere else does not need to walk in with a high-capacity semi-auto weapon. They only need to be able to disable someone on the other side of security who is carrying such a weapon – as was the case at the Navy Yard.
