New EPA Truck Standards
“I can do whatever I want.”
The EPA will issue new regulations on fuel-efficiency standards for trucks today at the direction of Barack Obama. The first EPA standards for trucks and heavy-duty vehicles were issued in 2011, and the new round of regulations will be tighter still. The New York Times headlined the story, “Obama to Request New Rules for Cutting Truck Pollution.” As if he’s asking. No, this is part of his “I have a pen and a phone” agenda that bypasses Congress. After all, he said, “I can do whatever I want.”
