Hillary and Hitler
She gets it right and wrong.
Hillary Clinton had this analysis of Vladimir Putin’s actions in Ukraine: “Now if this sounds familiar, it’s what Hitler did back in the ‘30s. All the Germans that were … the ethnic Germans, the Germans by ancestry who were in places like Czechoslovakia and Romania and other places, Hitler kept saying 'they’re not being treated right. I must go and protect my people’ and that’s what’s gotten everybody so nervous.” Actually, she’s got a point. But it wasn’t long before she hedged, saying she was just trying to bring “a little historical perspective” to the debate, adding, “I don’t know that it does any good to just up the rhetoric unless we can make sure that Europe is responding.” And if anything serves to “up the rhetoric,” it’s Hitler comparisons.
