Feds Recognize Mich. Ceremonies
Holder approves same-sex “marriages.”
Michigan’s gay “marriage” ban was recently ruled unconstitutional by U.S. District Judge Bernard Friedman in early March. “Four counties then took the extraordinary step of granting licenses on the Saturday before the 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ordered a temporary halt,” explains Fox News. “The stay was extended indefinitely on Tuesday. Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder afterward called the marriages performed last weekend legal but said Michigan won’t recognize them.” Nevertheless, Attorney General Eric Holder – never one to uphold the Rule of Law – decided today that Michigan’s roughly 300 same-sex ceremonies will be recognized by the Feds, Snyder’s objection notwithstanding. “These families will be eligible for all relevant federal benefits on the same terms as other same-sex marriages,” Holder declared. He recently made the same proclamation in Utah. Recall that in both states, the constitutional referendums defining marriage based on traditional norms were approved by voters, yet this administration continues to placate the homosexual agenda by intruding on state matters that don’t comport with the Left’s vision.
