Moore the Executioner
Filmmaker weighs in on GM.
Controversy swirls around the GM recall because the bailed out company acted so slowly to acknowledge a known problem with ignition switches that resulted in more than a dozen deaths. Leftist filmmaker Michael Moore wants justice, saying whoever is responsible deserves death. “I am opposed to the death penalty,” he began, “but to every rule there is usually an exception, and in this case I hope the criminals at General Motors will be arrested and made to pay for their pre-meditated decision to take human lives for a lousy 10 bucks.” Years ago on his website, he wrote, “I abhor the death penalty. It is the ultimate act of evil.” Evidently, however, he can unilaterally declare – without a trial – that the “criminals” at GM deserve to suffer that “ultimate act of evil.” We’re pro death penalty, but this is ridiculous.
