Russian Chutzpah
Complaining about NATO.
Russia practically invaded Crimea while engineering the peninsula’s secession from Ukraine, and it continues to threaten eastern Ukraine with further action. Now they want answers about military moves in the region – from NATO. “We have posed these questions to the North Atlantic Alliance [sic]. We are expecting not just any answer but an answer fully respectful of the rules we have coordinated,” said Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov. What “rules” would those be? As far as the tens of thousands of Russian troops in the area, Lavrov said they “will return to their bases after completing military exercises.” So, apparently, will NATO. As Hot Air’s Ed Morrissey joked, it’s “like the classic line, ‘Mom – he hit me back!’”
