Save the Planet; Kill the Economy
The UN broken record.
No global warming for 17 years? It must be time for the UN to issue another prescription for battling global warming. And it’s the same tired formula of suppressing economic growth. Germany’s Ottmar Edenhofer, one of the three co-chairs of the recent UN climate report, said, “There is a clear message from science: To avoid dangerous interference with the climate system, we need to move away from business as usual.” The UN warns temperatures could rise 4.8 degrees by 2100 if we don’t cut greenhouse gas emissions by an economically stifling 40% to 70% by mid-century. By 2100, their goal is near-zero emissions. The UN says emissions increased faster between 2000 and 2010 than any of the three previous decades, which is curious given that there was no warming during that period. Food for thought.
