Anti-Gun Hubris
NRA protesters provide incoherent thoughts.
MRC’s Dan Joseph visited an NRA protest to ask a few questions. And their answers were as ridiculous as you’d expect. One protester asserted that “it’s their [NRA’s] fault” that 30,000 Americans die from gun violence every year. “I really think that their Second Amendment rights do not trump the rights of the 30,000 people who died of gun violence [last] year.” When asked if a victim should be allowed to defend themselves, another said, “No. Only a law enforcement officer should be allowed to use weapons.” She added that Americans shouldn’t be allowed to carry in public areas because “you can choose to avoid illegal activity” by not walking in bad neighborhoods. Another said, “The NRA is cynically manipulating people’s fear and paranoia with complete … lies.” Thank goodness gun control advocates don’t do that! She added, “Anybody who wants to wrap themself [sic] on the flag and say, ‘Oh, Second Amendment’ – that’s baloney.” This brilliant activist observed, “the average person who owns a gun and goes shooting periodically or goes to a gun range – they don’t want to get shot.” You don’t say!
