No Pipelines for Gas
The Obama energy “boom.”
“Why drill it if you can’t sell it?” That’s what James Williams, president of energy consulting firm WTRG Economics, wants to know regarding natural gas. At issue is the boom in output that has companies exceeding pipeline capacity. “There are still several thousand wells waiting to connect to pipelines,” Williams says. Barack Obama likes to boast of the energy boom that’s happened on his watch, but it’s almost entirely in spite of his best efforts. In particular, the Obama EPA is set to release further regulation on power producers, and the effect on coal-power plants will be significant and bad. As coal plants shutter, natural gas (and the pipelines carrying it) will become all the more important – fantasies of a solar- and wind-powered utopia notwithstanding.
