Nanny O angered over nutrition deregulation.

Michelle Obama went on the offensive against Republicans critical of her healthy meal mandates for public schools. “The last thing we can afford to do is play politics with kids’ health,” she said to nutrition officials, adding that any effort to curtail her restrictions were “unacceptable.” Except that’s exactly what Ms. Obama did when she became self-appointed School Lunch Nanny. Republicans have come under fire for attempting to loosen nutritional requirements after a federal study revealed that most students are tossing healthier lunches and food costs were skyrocketing. Heritage Foundation’s Daren Bakst notes, “The only thing that should matter is whether the meal programs are working to meet the needs of students, not the needs of the Obama Administration.” And therein lies the problem: Democrats believe they know better than anyone else what’s best for you.
