How did Edward Snowden end up in Russia? The Mirror reports, “Ex-KGB Major Boris Karpichkov said spies from Russia’s SVR intelligence service posing as diplomats tricked Snowden into seeking asylum in Russia.” According to Karpichkov, Russia had its eyes on Snowden for years: “It was a trick and he fell for it. Now the Russians are extracting all the intelligence he possesses.” But Director of National Intelligence James Clapper recently admitted “it doesn’t look like [Snowden] took as much” as the NSA first thought. “Some things we thought he got he apparently didn’t.” Of course it was Clapper who was caught lying to Congress early last year when he told them “no,” the NSA does not collect any type of data at all on millions of Americans – at least “not wittingly,” he qualified.
