‘No Deportation Without Representation’
Nancy Pelosi says U.S. immigration policy has to be for the children. “It’s not just about having a heart; it’s about having a soul,” Pelosi said. “And the soul of our country is about respecting the dignity and worth of every person. The soul of our country is about giving every person access to rights who is in our country.” On a personal level, she may have a point, but the soul of our country is also Rule of Law. She also adapted the “no taxation without representation” slogan of America’s founding to advocate for allowing illegal aliens to stay: “We cannot have deportation without representation.” It’s pretty clear she and the Democrats aim to be that representation.
