Student Arrested for Having Imagination
A South Carolina high-school freshman was arrested and suspended for confessing to murder. But it’s not what you think. “I killed my neighbor’s pet dinosaur,” he wrote in a class assignment. And he did so using a gun to “take care of the business.” Rather than use common sense, the teacher alerted school officials, who searched his locker and backpack. Upon finding no gun, the student was arrested anyway for “disorderly conduct.” We think that better applies to the teacher and school officials. Score another one for “zero tolerance.” More…
