IRS Report Likely Polluted by Partisanship

The Senate report that will be released on the IRS targeting scandal will be further proof Washington cares little about the groups and grassroots movements outside the beltway. The Daily Signal reports, “Sen. Carl Levin, chairman of the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, is putting the finishing touches on his supposed ‘investigation’ of the IRS scandal that will, in essence, be a press release for the IRS and the administration, a reliable source tells me.” This could be seen as the Left playing partisan games with the Right, defending their guys against the Tea Party, but it’s deeper than that. Establishment Republicans branded Tea Party groups as the political enemy and they won this primary season – they won. The Tea Party hails not from the beltway but comes from American roots. As the politicians shuffle about, try to hide their dementia and ogle the 20-something interns, they have shut out the public from the process. And Washington cares little about the abuse of power, except only to score political points for the chance to use that power against their enemies. More…
