Missouri Nixes Gun Control Fiats
Overriding the veto of Missouri Democrat Gov. Jay Nixon, the state’s Senate rolled back gun control with legislation allowing gun owners with carry permits to carry openly, lowering the age when a citizen could get a concealed carry permit from 21 to 19 and giving teachers the opportunity to carry in the state’s schools. This comes on the heels of a voter initiative that amended the state’s constitution requiring gun control legislation be interpreted with “strict scrutiny,” giving maximum freedom to the state’s citizens when it comes to the Right to Bear Arms. The state has the right mindset. Instead of waiting for the rights to be upheld in court, the whole government – with exception to Gov. Nixon – is working to reduce fiat and restore rights. More…
