Republicans Chances of Taking Senate Diminishing
The Republican’s waffling on a strong election message has made it less likely that the GOP will win the Senate on Election Day. A few weeks ago, The Washington Post’s prediction model said there was an 80% probability the GOP would take Congress, but that prediction has slid. Now, thanks to state races turning sour, Republicans and Democrats are in a dead heat. Hot Air’s Noah Rothman points out Democrats have outspent Republicans in key races. And it does not help that Republicans are only opposing Democrats, and not providing a vision for their leadership if they were placed in power. Sen. Mitch McConnell, Senate minority leader, said, “I’m not going to lay out what the agenda’s going to be if in fact we become the majority. We’re still hoping the American people will conclude that they’d like to go in a different direction.” But what direction? If the GOP keeps this up, the public will vote for the people with a plan to lead them anywhere, even off a social, economic and constitutional cliff. More…
