Millennials Not Buying Homes
The unseen cost of the economy’s slow recovery is the collective future of the millennial generation. For Americans under 25, the unemployment rate is at 12.2%, says BLS, meaning Millennials are not collecting the job experience that will springboard them into the rest of the careers. Furthermore, The Wall Street Journal reports that the generation of iPhone users are not buying homes. While a house and a job are foundational to living a secure and settled life, the Millennial generation is facing a failure to launch, which will stunt the growth of the American economy for years to come. Part of the blame lands at the feet of the government, whose regulations removed the first few rungs in the ladder to success on one hand and with the other offers handouts for “failure.” The other reason is some Millennials do not envision a path to success.
