Anti-Gun Strategy: Call SWAT Team to Shoot Arm Bearer
In the age of police militarization, those who don’t mind breaking a law or two can use a technique called SWATing to bring down the police on their ideological enemies. Indeed, Charles Cooke reports over at National Review some anti-gun zealots have advocated SWATing to attack anyone they see carrying a firearm openly. It boggles the mind, seeing that SWAT teams, in the heat of a moment, sometimes kill or maim innocents. You’d think an anti-gunner means the person was more pacifist and less tuned into the reality of violent people than most, but no. Instead, they threaten death to those who ideologically oppose them. Just not with their gun, but the government’s guns. Go figure. The numbers of anti-gun, pro-SWATing zealots are few, admittedly, and they surface on the comment sections of anti-gun websites. But the act is not without precedent. On Aug. 5, police in Dayton, Ohio, shot and killed John Crawford III in a Walmart. His crime? He carried around an unboxed air rifle that was for sale and someone called 911 with an exaggerated complaint.
