Obama Parties It Up in Greenwich, Connecticut
Barack Obama reached out to his base Oct. 7 as he made a trip to Greenwich, Connecticut, to the home of Rich Richman (it’s the guy’s real name) to rub shoulders with about the only demographic that still supports the man – the moneyed Democrats who are in no way like the Koch brothers because they live in Connecticut. If you need a refresher, Greenwich is about the filthy-richest place in the world outside Saudi Arabia. Mel Gibson put a home on the market there in 2007 that went for $30 million. So while the Democrats will raise funds for all their embittered Senate battles around the nation, there’s one embittered Democrat who will not show up – Connecticut’s governor, Dannel Malloy. According to the Stamford Advocate, Malloy has accomplished what few can – to get a lower approval rating than Obama. The Advocate says Malloy possibly avoided the event for two reasons. First, in the Connecticut gubernatorial race where two rich, white men argue who is the least aristocratic, Malloy would be a fool to show up at an event that cost $10,000 per plate.
