Holder Attacks Symptoms of Arrest Rates
Say, what’s Attorney General Eric Holder’s definition of “fairness”? The AG took to YouTube to read a statement announcing more government programs to fix the problem of black men being arrested at greater rates than any other demographic. About 50% of black men are arrested before they are 23, Holder said. “This overrepresentation of young men of color in our criminal justice system is a problem we must confront.” Holder continued, this is an “issue of fairness.” So what’s fair to Holder? If a police officer arrests a black man, is he to arrest a white guy next? Or is fairness the disinterested application of Rule of Law? Sure there’s a problem with the amount of black men arrested in this nation, but Holder focuses on the symptoms of the problem. And that problem is that many black men are not shown the true path to success.
