Americans Say Terrorism Biggest Concern
A new poll suggests more Americans are reawakening to the threat posed by jihadis here at home in the wake of recent terrorist attacks abroad. The Pew Research Center reports, “For the first time in five years, as many Americans cite defending the U.S. against terrorism (76%) as a top policy priority as say that about strengthening the nation’s economy (75%).” Last year, those numbers were 73% and 80%, respectively. Support for bolstering America’s Armed Forces saw an appreciable increase as well, with 52% favoring a stronger military compared to just 43% last year. For the record, so-called climate change still ranks near the bottom – just 38% of recipients say “Dealing with global warming” demands top priority. But don’t tell John Kerry. According to him, there’s no greater threat to the world than oscillating temperatures, which the “overwhelming consensus” supposedly agrees with. More…
