Obama Repeats Low Gas Prices Boast

Every three weeks, we bring online as much solar power as we did in the entire year of 2008. And thanks to lower gas prices and higher fuel standards, the typical family should save about 750 bucks at the pump.” As we have said every time he repeats this empty boast, Obama has nothing to do with lower oil prices, unless “despite his efforts” counts. Obama has little to no control over private and state lands. He does, however, have control over federal lands where oil production has been faltering. … From 2009 to 2013, crude oil production [on federal lands] fell from 1.8 million barrels per day to 1.7 million barrels per day, according to the Congressional Research Service.” Obama knows low gas prices benefit everyone – especially the middle class he’s so fond of these days – but if it were really up to him we’d all be driving Chevy Volts and paying $10 a gallon.
