National Review's Jim Geraghty wants to "get the bad news out of the way first." Hillary Clinton is going to be formidable because there's a built-in base of support. "If Hillary Clinton did nothing between now and Election Day ... no interviews, no public appearances, refused to show up to any debates, taped no commercials or videos, and just sat in her house in Chappaqua for the next 20 months ... she would still do pretty well," Geraghty warns. "For perspective, in 2014, Republicans demolished Democrats in the House races. (This is a nice measurement because every district in America holds a House race, while only some states were holding Senate or gubernatorial races.) The Republicans won, 52 percent to 45 percent. So in a year where just about everything possible went wrong for Democrats, they finished with 45 percent. Mitt Romney's 47 percent comment had a kernel of truth about the fairly high floor for a Democratic candidate." What that means for the GOP candidate is making a convincing case for Liberty, not stopping with a carefully manicured pitch for more competent management.
