NFL Says Cops’ Lives Don’t Matter

Some political statements are more equal than others.

The National Football League is only political when it wants to be. “The NFL denied the Dallas Cowboys’ request to wear a decal on their helmets during the season that would have paid tribute to the five police officers killed last month in an ambush,” reports Fox News. The Dallas Police Department nonetheless appreciated that the team has been wearing the decals throughout summer training.

The League has strict uniform rules, which prohibit the display of community support, though those rules do not prohibit an entire month of players wearing pink. (There’s little more offensive to the eyes than the politically incorrect Redskins adding pink to their uniforms.) The pink gloves, cleats and other paraphernalia are part of the NFL’s effort to support the Susan G. Komen Foundation and breast cancer research. The trouble is, as we’ve reported before, Komen donates to Planned Parenthood, which headlined this year’s Democrat National Convention and aborts hundreds of thousands of potential future NFL players every year.

Gary Bauer also notes, “This is the same NFL that invited Beyonce to perform an anti-police tribute to the Black Panthers at the Super Bowl. This is the same NFL that came down on the state of North Carolina like a ton of bricks because it believes men should not be in women’s restrooms.”

On a final note, the Cowboys open the preseason against the now-Los Angeles Rams. Two years ago, when the team was in St. Louis, several Rams players walked out on the field in the “hands up, don’t shoot” pose. The NFL didn’t seem to mind that, either.
