November 13, 2020

Friday Executive Summary

Minor win in Pennsylvania, Michigan lawsuit, Biden’s faux mandate, Alito’s warning, and more.

Re: Vote Fraud & Irregularities

  • A minor win for the Trump team in Pennsylvania (NR)

Excerpt: “A state court ruled that the state government lacked the authority to extend by three days (i.e., until today, November 12) the statutory six-day post-election deadline for voters to verify proof of identification. … The decision … is expected to affect very few votes. … The decision has no bearing on the more notable controversy currently pending before the U.S. Supreme Court — viz., whether Pennsylvania’s state supreme court had the authority to extend by three days (i.e., until November 6) the statutory deadline for mail-in ballots to be received by county election boards.”

  • Michigan voters file federal lawsuit seeking to toss 1.2 million ballots (Washington Examiner) | Michigan GOP lawmakers call for “full audit” (Daily Wire)

  • Arizona secretary of state referred to Trump’s base as “neo-nazi” in 2017 (Breitbart)

  • New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman urges Democrats to commit voter fraud in Georgia (Free Beacon)

Excerpt: “‘I hope everybody moves to Georgia, you know, in the next month or two, registers to vote, and votes for these two Democratic senators,’ Friedman said during a Monday-night CNN appearance. Georgia election law does not include a length-of-residency requirement in order to vote in the state. It does, however, prohibit prospective voters from ‘residing in the state briefly with the intention just to vote and then move away.’”

If Biden Prevails

  • Biden under pressure from the Left to erase student debt (Washington Examiner)

  • Biden likely to scrap parts of Trump decision to pull troops from Germany (Washington Examiner)

  • Pelosi wrongly says Biden’s projected win gives Democrats economy-destroying mandate (Washington Times) | Solid strategy: Kevin McCarthy says best way for GOP to fundraise is “just let Nancy Pelosi and AOC talk” (The Hill)

  • Trump Accountability Project aimed at “canceling” loyalists laughably shuts down “in the spirit of … a more united country” (Washington Times)

  • Justice Samuel Alito rips Supreme Court for not considering church coronavirus lawsuits (Washington Examiner) | Alito warns of dangers to free speech and religious liberty (Fox News)

Excerpt: “People recovering from COVID-19 were about twice as likely to be diagnosed with a mental health disorder as compared with someone who had the flu, says Paul Harrison, professor of psychiatry at Oxford and one of the study’s authors. … The study found that the relationship between mental illness and COVID-19 is actually bidirectional: People with psychiatric diagnosis were about 65% more likely to be diagnosed with COVID-19 than people without.”

  • Michael Cohen’s bogus book about Trump is being made into Hollywood movie (Daily Mail)

  • Identity-politics-enabler Barack Obama says Trump won in 2016 because Americans were “spooked by a black man in the White House” (Disrn)

“This is a typically shallow analysis from our pseudo intellectual former president, who obviously cannot tolerate that his presidency was rejected by Trump’s election and sees his opponents through a prism of race and crude stereotypes. He has no understanding of what the Trump revolution was about. It had little to do with hating anyone, and a lot to do with loving this country that the Left is in the process of destroying.” —Keith Koffler

Other Notables

  • Ending greenhouse gas emissions “may not stop global warming” (Daily Mail)

Excerpt: “If humans ended greenhouse gas emissions tomorrow we would still see global temperatures continuing to rise for several centuries, a new study claims. … Even if all human-made greenhouse-gas emissions were reduced to zero this year, global temperatures would still be around 5.4°F (3°C) warmer in 2500 than on 1850, [a computer] model found. Sea levels, meanwhile, would rise by around eight feet (2.5 metres) by 2500, compared to 1850, submerging glaciers and flooding land.”

Editor’s note: Computer models are, of course, unreliable. But the scientists here are claiming “the world is already past a point-of-no-return for global warming,” so why even bother thinking about a Green New Deal? The study affirms that adaption is the most viable solution.
