Russia’s Bounty Was Fake News
Even the Biden administration admits the dubious report of Russian bounties on U.S. troops was “inconclusive.”
When The New York Times dropped its “bombshell” story back in June of last year claiming that U.S. intelligence officials “have concluded that a Russian military-intelligence unit secretly offered bounties to Taliban-linked militants for killing coalition forces in Afghanistan,” we were skeptical, believing that it was a political hit piece on President Donald Trump. Before long, we concluded that it was entirely bogus. Well, that assessment has been confirmed to be spot on.
On Thursday, NBC News reported, “Remember those Russian bounties for dead U.S. troops? Biden admin says the CIA intel is not conclusive.” Yeah, well, it wasn’t conclusive back when the politically timed anti-Trump hit piece was originally dropped, yet that didn’t stop Leftmedia talking heads, Democrats lawmakers, and then-candidate Joe Biden at the Democratic National Convention from baselessly asserting that Trump had “turned a blind eye to Russian bounties on the heads of American soldiers.”
When Trump denied in an interview of having been briefed on or having any knowledge of the unverified intelligence, The Washington Post claimed, without evidence, that he was lying and awarded him four Pinocchios. Yet even after this latest report that actually corroborates Trump’s account, the Post still insists that Trump was lying about not receiving the reports. It seems the paper is peddling more fake news to save face over its original hatchet job of a “fact-check.”
So, the question naturally arises: Why is the Biden administration raising this issue now and effectively debunking Biden’s own bogus campaign narrative? The answer has everything to do with Biden’s about-face on pulling troops from Afghanistan and ending America’s longest war. Team Biden doesn’t want anything getting in the way of Joe being able to claim credit for ending the Afghanistan war come September 11. They can’t have their old “Russian bounties” story, which Biden used to blast Trump for supposedly failing to confront Russia, hanging around as he claims credit for ending the war in Afghanistan. Thus, the fake news has been quickly and quietly put to bed, ruled by U.S. intelligence as “inconclusive” because it always was.
Never mind that the real scandal in all this is how Biden and the Leftmedia colluded to peddle a fake scandal, disingenuously claiming concern over the welfare of American troops while using those same troops as political fodder to attack the then-commander-in-chief. It was especially despicable and disgusting because they knew it was all fake, and they only “came clean” when it was far too late to matter.
