15 Million Reasons to Ban Bulk-Mail Ballot Voting
The fewer restrictions, the easier it is for Democrats to cheat.
No country worth its salt does mail-in voting.
France — France — banned it in 1975 because the French knew it meant rampant fraud. In 2005, a bipartisan report from the Commission on Federal Election Reform, chaired by former President Jimmy Carter and former Secretary of State James Baker, concluded, “Absentee ballots remain the largest source of potential voter fraud.” And no less a leftist organ than The New York Times sounded that same alarm in 2012.
And yet last year, we allowed Democrats to make massive changes to the way we decide our elections, and to thereby perpetrate that very fraud on the nation. We allowed them to institute a chaotic and largely unregulated bulk-mail balloting scheme across that land. It’s the COVID!, they shrieked. And we let ‘em get away with it.
And now, by way of the train wreck known as the Biden administration, we’re paying the price.
If you or any of your friends think mail-in voting is largely reliable, think again. As The Daily Signal reports:
Almost 15 million mail-in ballots were unaccounted for in the 2020 presidential election, and more than a million more ballots were undeliverable, according to a new study.
The Public Interest Legal Foundation, a conservative watchdog group on election integrity, released a research brief Wednesday assessing the effect of mass mail-in balloting in an election with a close presidential race in key battleground states such as Arizona, Georgia, and Wisconsin.
Judging from the relatively comfortable 306-232 electoral margin, it would appear that Joe Biden won the 2020 election convincingly. Appearances, though, can be deeply deceiving. But for 43,000 votes spread across just three key states — Arizona, Georgia, and Wisconsin — Donald Trump would still be president.
Remember: More than 155 million votes were cast. That means a single vote for every 3,600 votes cast decided the 2020 election. Think about those numbers the next time a Democrat crows about Joe Biden having won in a landslide.
We can also localize those numbers to help drive them home. As the two-page report points out, “President Joe Biden carried Arizona by 10,457 votes, yet [the state’s] Maricopa County reportedly sent ballots to 110,092 outdated or wrong addresses.”
What are the odds that our friends the Democrats will lose even a wink of sleep over the fact that 15 million votes were unaccounted for?
Furthermore, why is it that they keep trying to pass HR 1, the deceitfully dubbed For the People Act? Why are they so desperate to pass a bill that would systematize electoral fraud, a bill that Texas Senator Ted Cruz called “the single most dangerous piece of legislation we’ve seen in decades”? Earlier this week, the House was at it again, this time with HR 4, the equally deceptive John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act.
It’s simple, really: The fewer restrictions on voting, the easier it is for Democrats to cheat. This is especially true in the big cities, whose corrupt political machines and whose ballot-counting processes are invariably controlled by Democrats. As Joseph Stalin might’ve put it: You silly Trump voters decide nothing. We who count the votes decide everything.
Cartoonist Thomas Nast understood this a century and a half ago, when he depicted Boss Tweed, the notoriously corrupt leader of New York City’s Tammany Hall Democrats, leaning on a voting stand and saying, “As long as I count the votes, what are you going to do about it?”
“These figures detail how the 2020 push to mail voting needs to be a one-year experiment,” said J. Christian Adams, president of the Public Interest Legal Foundation, which put together the report.
Joe Biden may have “won” the 2020 election, but he’s certainly made a mess of things since then. Indeed, millions of the “81 million” folks who “voted” for him are already suffering from buyer’s remorse.
In many cases, they’re even rolling over in their graves.
