Re: “Biden’s Lump of Coal

Joe Manchin went along with Biden’s plans for two reasons: First, his wife was named director of the Appalachian Regional Commission. Second, she was presented with a billion of our tax dollars to dole out in her capacity as director. Joe should hang his head in shame rather than feign outrage now over Biden’s policies. He knew what they were when he went along to get his wife a plum appointment. Typical Democrat. I hope West Virginians have long memories; this one sure does. —West Virginia

Biden’s got two years to go — all of his climate policies will be reversed when Republicans take over, and by then, the fraud attending “clean energy” projects will be colossal. I live in California, and I can assure you this state will not be an electric car state by 2035. I see absolutely no evidence of serious infrastructure spending here, and we have only 13 years to go. Plus, the environmentalist pushback in this state will be epic. —California

Re: “It’s Election DAY, Not Election Season

The Senate race debacle in Pennsylvania is a very clear example of why the 17th Amendment should and must be repealed. I doubt very seriously that either candidate would be considered if the original method of choosing U.S. senators was in place today — Fetterman because of his health problems, and Dr. Oz because he has not been a long-term resident of Pennsylvania. Does anyone in the state have any notion of how much out-of-state money is being spent on either candidate to influence the outcome of the election? Most people don’t know or understand the havoc the 17th Amendment has caused in American politics. Wake up, America. —California

The United States put a man on the moon over 50 years ago, yet now we struggle to get votes counted in a timely and orderly fashion? Just like the burgeoning federal bureaucracy and its response to myriad problems: The more hurried we go, the more behind we get. Mail-in balloting should be reserved for only the military, overseas citizens, and the disabled, and ballots should be signed, sealed, and delivered before Election Day. All others, report to your local voting stations on the one day set aside for voting … and bring your ID! —Maryland

Not that long ago, the vast majority of voters cast their vote on Election Day with limited exceptions for absentee mail-in ballots primarily for military members serving away from their legal residence. The current situation of questionable, inordinate numbers of absentee mail-in ballots is opportune for suspect vote accountability. It’s why so many have questioned the results of the 2020 election. Election integrity, not right-wing extremism, is the greatest threat to our nation and its democratic republic form of government. —Florida
