Monday: Below the Fold

Massacre at LGBTQ night club, driver who plowed into LA sheriff’s recruits released, Philadelphia DA blames racism for his impeachment, and more.

Cross-Examination

  • Massacre at LGBTQ night club: In the early hours of Sunday morning, a 22-year-old man entered Club Q, a gay nightclub in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and began shooting patrons. The attacker was quickly subdued by several patrons, but not before killing at least five people and injuring another 25. Police who arrived on the scene within minutes of the 911 call took the attacker into custody. At least two firearms were recovered from the scene including one long rifle. The motive behind the attack is still unknown, but that didn’t stop Joe Biden from leveling blame on both “gun violence” and hate toward “the LGBTQI+ community.” CNN tacitly tied the conservative Christian organization Focus on the Family to the crime by noting that its headquarters resides in Colorado Springs and that it “says homosexuality and same-sex marriage are sins.” The Leftmedia in general claims there’s a problem of growing anti-LGBT rhetoric, while completely ignoring the fact that the issue of both homosexuality and “transgenderism” has been increasingly shoved into the faces of Americans relentlessly by the media in nearly every facet of life. Narcissism is an undergirding feature of an LGBTQ movement that cannot tolerate the notion of “live and let live,” but instead insists that everyone embrace and celebrate sexually deviant lifestyles. The tragedy is that five people were murdered and over two dozen others injured, irrespective of the weapons used and the victims’ chosen sexual proclivities.

  • Driver who plowed into LA sheriff’s recruits released: A 22-year-old was immediately taken into custody last week after he drove his vehicle into a group of Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department recruits, injuring at least 25 of them, but he has been released. Sheriff Alex Villanueva stated that the attack was a “deliberate act,” though the suspect is being released due to “insufficient evidence” on which to charge him at this time. Villanueva noted that the release doesn’t mean the suspect won’t be re-arrested in the near future. Officials from the LA County District Attorney’s office explained that they “would not be presenting a case at this time” but also “cannot comment on the evidence in this case as this is an ongoing investigation." Villanueva noted that the suspect had passed an alcohol breathalyzer test following the attack. The sheriff’s department had initially intended to charge the suspect with attempted murder of a peace officer.

  • Philadelphia DA blames racism for his impeachment: The Pennsylvania legislature voted to impeach Philadelphia’s Democrat District Attorney Larry Krasner last week. Earlier this year, a bipartisan committee was formed to investigate the George Soros-backed DA who won reelection last year. The state’s legislature is Republican controlled, and the lower chamber voted 107 to 85 to impeach Krasner. The result sets up a vote in the state Senate, where a two-thirds majority is required to remove Krasner. Hundreds of attorneys have left the DA’s office since he took over due to his implementation of radical leftist criminal justice reforms that have led to a significant increase in violent crime in Philadelphia, including a record 562 homicides last year. Republican Pennsylvania House Leader Kerry Benninghoff defended the vote: "We put ourselves on the record that we stand with the people of Philadelphia who have been living in fear for their lives and the safety of themselves and their families. We are standing up for those who do not have a voice, but long for safety and freedom from fear.” Krasner responded to his impeachment by asserting without any evidence that the vote was motivated by racism, as he claimed that Republicans were acting to disenfranchise “Black, brown, and broke” voters.
