DeSantis and students win, Dems eyeing “racist Jim Crow Georgia” for DNC Convention, and more.
Cross-Examination
DeSantis and students win: AP African-American studies course amended: In yet another win for Floridians and their Republican Governor Ron DeSantis, the state’s College Board has changed the framework of its AP African-American studies course in order to ensure the promulgation of legitimate historical facts and education over and against political indoctrination. Last month, the Florida State Board of Education rejected the AP course because it was “contrary to Florida law and significantly lacks educational value.” DeSantis defended the board’s decision as he highlighted the fact that the course pushed the leftist ideology of critical race theory. Observing that the course contained a section on “Black Queer Theory,” DeSantis critiqued: “Who would say that an important part of black history is queer theory? That is somebody pushing an agenda on our kids.” He also pointed out: “When you look to see, they have stuff about intersectionality, abolishing prisons. That’s a political agenda.” The Leftmedia’s coverage of the issue has been anything but objective, honest, or accurate. One example comes from Axios, which made this ridiculous statement regarding the objection to the curriculum: “critical race theory — a topic that is often conflated with teachings on systemic racism…” Correction: There is no conflation here. The only reason the term “systemic racism” exists is because critical race theory adherents asserted it. Indeed, if it wasn’t for CRT there would be no talk of systemic racism. Thankfully, DeSantis sees right through this type of leftist spin and is having great success in countering the promulgation of CRT as “education” in Florida’s schools.
Dems eyeing “racist Jim Crow Georgia” for 2024 DNC Convention: Remember when Georgia was declared by Democrats across the country to be such a racist and deplorable place that Major League Baseball moved its All-Star Game out of Atlanta in 2021? It wasn’t that long ago that Joe Biden railed against the Peach State over its new election integrity laws, asserting that the legislation “makes Jim Crow look like Jim Eagle.” Democrats repeatedly derided Georgia’s election integrity laws as “Jim Crow 2.0.” Now, following the 2022 midterm elections that showed record-high voter turnout and witnessed the reelection of leftist Senator Raphael Warnock, Democrats are suddenly singing a different tune. Georgia is suddenly a shining beacon lighting the way forward for future Democrat Party success in the Deep South. Not only is Biden pushing to have Georgia’s presidential primary date moved up, but Atlanta is now the leading choice of the three remaining cities in the running for hosting the 2024 Democrat National Convention. Obviously, the Democrats never really believed the Jim Crow smears they incessantly spewed. Shocking, we know.
Global warming threat dwarfs nukes? In yet another example of Joe Biden’s rhetorical hyperventilating, on Tuesday Biden dropped another doozy. Speaking at a climate change fundraiser, Biden went full Al Gore by stating: “If we don’t stay under 1.5 degrees Celsius, we’re going to have a real problem. It’s the single most existential threat to humanity we’ve ever faced, including nuclear weapons. And so we have a real big problem.” So, the threat of nuclear war — which has been increasing thanks to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s growing frustration over his struggling invasion of Ukraine — pales in comparison to climate change? The climate is slowly changing and will continue to do so, as it always has done in the past. No government has the power to stop it. But seeking to prevent nuclear Armageddon is one of the jobs of a president. Finally, what does Biden think a bunch of nukes going off will do to the climate?
