Red States vs. Blue States
Let us not forget that California and Washington were once red states. We must remember that eternal vigilance is the price of liberty.
Red states have been making headlines for their bold legislation against the mutilation of children and for the protection of parental rights and life in the womb. Leftists living in these states have protested and displayed public emotional outbursts to no avail. In response to red-state legislation, blue states have passed laws and constitutional amendments to protect abortion and doctors who don’t mind mutilating children, calling themselves a “sanctuary state.”
We have heard of the mass exodus of conservatives fleeing blue states to become refugees in red states that align with their values. Many Californians, New Yorkers, Washingtonians, etc. are now proud to call southern states like Florida, Tennessee, and Texas home. This mass exodus has resulted in Florida turning into a red state with only a few blue counties.
When one talks to a conservative family that has made the move to a red state, there is a common theme: living in blue states is dangerous. In Portland, Oregon, the Post Millennial reports that a man identifying as a woman was arrested for brutally stabbing a taxi driver to death. In San Francisco, a woman was filmed giving birth to her baby on a sidewalk as she was high on crack. In New York, Fox 5 NY reports that police are investigating five murders that happened over Easter weekend. All of this is the result of soft-on-crime and soft-on-drugs policies. It is not difficult to understand why one would not want to raise a family in blue cities and states.
Whether or not a leftist agrees with red-state policies, they highly benefit from them. Many leftists fail to realize that they benefit from conservative polices like lower taxes, lower crime, and less government interference. It is easier to operate a business in a red state. Red states are family friendly and have a wider range of educational access such as private, public, and homeschooling.
In other words, leftists live a good life in red states regardless of how much of a victim they play. Many of the activists protesting at state capitols are college students who have not experienced life and may not intend to become a permanent resident of the state they are in, but they protest because it’s “trendy.” Moreover, many of the laws and policies that leftist activists protest for in red states are already a reality in blue states.
Many blue-state refugees understand the importance of conserving the traditional values and way of living that red states have. These families tend to become politically active as soon as they move to their new red state. Those native to red states must understand that it is our duty to be politically active if we wish to keep our red state red. Let us not forget that California and Washington were once red states. We must remember that eternal vigilance is the price of liberty.
