The Left has killed our great cities, so what better place for the Democrats to hold their national convention than Chicago?

Chi-town, after all, has been a Democrat-held city since 1931. It was known for being a cleaner, safer New York with better pizza. That last part is true at least. As far as cleaner and safer, well, it depends on what part of the city you’re venturing into. If you live on the Southside or happen to be black, the city is a much more dangerous place.

If one were to use the Chicago Sun-Time’s homicide tracker, the picture is pretty bleak. Of the 136 homicides so far this year, 82 victims (60%) were black. Twenty-one kids 18 years of age and younger have already lost their lives in the Windy City; 13 (72%) of them were black. One hundred twenty-nine victims were killed by gunfire. Just to remind anyone who isn’t already aware, Chicago is a gun-free city. Wonder how those murderers got their hands on the guns? It’s almost like criminals are going to do things illegally. Shocking. This despite all the Democrat anti-gun laws and talking points.

Then there’s the corruption. Chicago has been the city of backroom deals, mobster-influenced head-turning, and political embezzlement. It was ranked the No. 1 most corrupt city for the third year in a row last year. What does that say about Democrat governance? Perhaps they’ll pull a Biden and blame everything on former President Donald Trump.

Then there’s the small problem of business and people fleeing the city for safety. Aside from Citadel, the Chicago Bears, Caterpillar, and Boeing, Walmart is the most recent business to declare flight from the crime-ridden city. Walmart announced that it will be closing four of its eight locations. According to a statement to the public, Walmart admitted, “Chicago stores have not been profitable since we opened the first one nearly 17 years ago — these stores lose tens of millions of dollars a year, and their annual losses nearly doubled in just the last five years.”

The mismanagement of the third-largest city isn’t going to be changing anytime soon. The people of Chicago ousted woke Mayor Lori Lightfoot for the even more woke Brandon Johnson. Nothing says we need a change by steering harder in the wrong direction. The reality is Chicagoans have trapped themselves, going nowhere but in a circle of bad politicians and bad policy.

So yeah, it’s no wonder Democrats have selected the Windy City for their national convention in 2024! It’s a perfect exemplar of their policies in action.

National Republican Congressional Committee Press Secretary Will Reinert teased: “Democrats must think a city averaging more than a murder a day is the ideal city to showcase. What’s the bigger concern: sirens drowning out nominating speeches or what items attendees must leave at home to make room for their bulletproof vest in their suitcase?”

RNC rapid response director Tommy Pigott added: “Democrats just chose one of the worst-run cities in America for their convention: Chicago. The city is so poorly run, incumbent Mayor Lori Lightfoot received less than 17% of the vote in the city’s recent election.”

Chicago is in fact a perfect pick for these reasons. It is a Democrat paradise … if by paradise you mean third-world hellhole.
