If you trust your government, you’re either a Democrat or a sucker. Or both.

It had to be said.

This, too, has to be said: Joe Biden is a liar and a cheat. And no, we don’t mean he lies about his wealth and cheats on the golf course. We mean he lies and cheats about the most important, most consequential things in life. Like how his first wife and his daughter died. Like how his son Beau died. Like whether he ever talked to his son Hunter about his overseas business dealings, or whether the deeply damaging information on his laptop computer is exactly what it appears to be.

But hey, go ahead and trust him. After all, you have his word as a Biden.

As if we needed any more evidence of this man’s reflexive penchant for lying, there was former CIA Deputy Director Mike Morrell, an Obama administration toady, testifying under oath before the House Judiciary and Intelligence Committees that then-Biden campaign senior adviser Antony Blinken was “the impetus” of the infamous and election-interfering “Gang of 51” letter signed by current and past intelligence lickspittles officials just days after the New York Post’s bombshell story about Hunter Biden’s laptop. The letter disingenuously warned the American people that the Hunter Biden laptop was part of a Russian disinformation campaign, and thus gave Big Tech and the mainstream media the collective cover they needed to spike the story.

As The Washington Free Beacon reports:

Morell said Blinken contacted him on Oct. 17, 2020, to discuss a New York Post story that revealed emails from the younger Biden’s abandoned laptop. The ex-spy also said Blinken sent him an article that said the FBI was investigating whether the laptop was part of a “disinformation campaign.” Morell said that Blinken’s outreach “triggered” him to draft a letter that dismissed the release of the emails as a probable Russian disinformation operation. He forwarded it to former CIA Director John Brennan and others to sign.

Morell, who was reportedly on Biden’s short-list for CIA director, said the Biden team helped strategize the letter’s release. He testified the campaign told him they wanted to provide the letter to the Washington Post. The document was ultimately provided to Politico, which published it on Oct. 19 with the headline, “Hunter Biden story is Russian disinfo, dozens of former intel officials say.”

And what did Joe Biden do with this disinformation? He spread it to the American people during the final presidential debate between himself and Donald Trump: “Look,” said Biden when asked about the laptop, “there are 50 former national intelligence folks who said that what [President Trump is] accusing me of is a Russian plan. They have said that this has all the characteristics — four — five former heads of the CIA, both parties, say what he’s saying is a bunch of garbage! Nobody believes it except [Trump’s] good friend Rudy Giuliani.”

Well. If that ain’t the garbage calling the truth “garbage.”

In short: Biden’s current secretary of state convinced our nation’s intelligence apparatus to interfere with the 2020 election.

How do we know? Because Morell said so. The committee questioned him about it directly, asking, “[Prior to Blinken’s call], you did not have any intent to write this statement?”

Morell’s unequivocal answer: “I did not.”

Just how damaging was this letter to the reputations of our intelligence services? Plenty. As the Editorial Page at The Wall Street Journal notes, “These 51 officials have done more to damage the credibility of the CIA and FBI than anything Donald Trump has said. Ditto for the complicit media.”

And how damaging was it to what we’ve long believed in this country to be a system of free, fair, and trustworthy elections? Deeply so. A Tipp Insights poll revealed this stunning sentiment: “47 percent said that knowing before the election that the laptop contents were real and not ‘disinformation’ would have changed their voting decision — including more than two-thirds (71 percent) of Democrats.

And yet Donald Trump, not Joe Biden, is the guy who’s being investigated six ways till Sunday.

All this comes as a new NBC News poll shows an overwhelming majority of Republicans see through the Democrats’ multiple investigations into Trump and support his run for the presidency in 2024, while a narrow majority of Democrats don’t want Biden to run for reelection.

Is anyone surprised? Indeed, 68% of Republican primary voters responded that those investigations "are a politically motivated attempt to stop Trump” and that “no other candidate is like him, we must support him.” On the other hand, just 26% say it’s “important to nominate a candidate who will not be distracted and can beat Joe Biden.”

Clearly, Republican voters aren’t inclined to let the Democrats tell them who can and can’t run for president. That’s unequivocally a good thing — lest the Democrats grow even more fond of this repugnant tactic.

And clearly, Republican voters have gotten wise to the Democrats’ sleazy ways. Here again, they’ve been caught accusing their political opponents of precisely that which they themselves are guilty.

Journalist Benny Johnson summed it up nicely: “Antony Blinken orchestrated a letter from 50 intelligence officers to lie about the legitimacy of Hunter’s laptop. Merrick Garland lied to Congress to cover for Hunter and obstruct justice in the laptop investigation. These are facts. But sure, the election wasn’t rigged and the Biden Admin isn’t corrupt.”
